The most intelligent animal on Earth is the chimpanzee. Chimpanzees are primates belonging to the family Hominidae. They can distinguish different colors and produce 32 different calls with distinct meanings. They can use simple tools and are the second most intelligent animal known after humans. Their behavior and social behavior are more similar to humans, making them of great significance in anthropological research.

Chimpanzees are 70-92.5 cm long, 1-1.7 meters tall when standing, and weigh 45-80 kg. They have short, black fur, usually with a white patch on their rump, a grayish-brown face, very large ears that protrude to the sides, deep-set eyes, and teeth similar to humans; they have no tail. Their lifespan is 35-40 years.
Chimpanzees are the closest relatives of humans and are considered the most intelligent animals alive today besides humans. A small number of scientists who do not subscribe to anthropocentrism argue that chimpanzees should be separated from the genus *Panthera* and grouped with the genus *Homo*. A very small number of scholars even believe that, in a sense, humans are a third type of chimpanzee.

Chimpanzees have emotions and grieve for the death of a relative; other members of the group will offer condolences to the deceased's siblings. Scientists have successfully taught a chimpanzee to recognize Arabic numerals, arrange numbers from 0 to 9 in ascending order, and remember up to five digits. Some chimpanzees, after language training, can understand thousands of English words and can "speak" using tools such as keyboards. The intellectual similarity between chimpanzees and human infants is clearly greater than their physical similarity.
Chimpanzees have predominantly A blood type in their ABO blood type, with a small number of O types, but no B type. M and N blood types have also been found. Chimpanzees have 48 chromosomes (24 pairs). The amino acid sequence on chimpanzee cytochrome C is the same as in humans.

Chimpanzees are curious, active, and agile. During the day, they often gather together and make a lot of noise, creating chaos. They make a ruckus almost every 20 minutes and often use the dense vines to play games such as "swinging" and "hide-and-seek".
Chimpanzees are the most similar higher animals to humans. Studies have shown that some chimpanzees, after training, can not only master certain skills and sign language, but also use computer keyboards to learn vocabulary, and their abilities even surpass those of two-year-old children.
