Ears : African elephants have larger ears, shaped like the outline of the African continent, while Asian elephants have smaller ears with wavy edges.
Back : African elephants have straight or concave backs, while Asian elephants have hump-shaped backs.
Teeth : Adult male and female African elephants usually have long tusks, but only male Asian elephants grow more prominent tusks, and some males may not have them at all. Females almost never have tusks.
Lifestyle
Social Structure : Elephant communities typically consist of a group of female elephants and their offspring, known as a family group. Male elephants usually leave their birth group after reaching sexual maturity to live independently or join a herd of male elephants.

Current situation and protection
Elephants are facing severe survival challenges: habitat loss, human disturbance, illegal hunting, and the ivory trade have led to a sharp decline in their numbers. As a result, they are listed as an endangered species.
