Mac EFI exposed a major security vulnerability that spreads through Thunderbolt devices

Apple today released security patches for OS X Yosemite, OS X Mavericks, and OS X Mountain Lion. This update addresses a serious security issue in the software that provides the Network Time Protocol (NTP) service on OS X. Apple recommends that all users upgrade as soon as possible.

This update addresses a problem released by the US government last Friday, December 19, which was originally discovered by the Google security team. The vulnerability allowed an attacker to execute code with the privileges of the ntpd process. Since 2014, Apple has encountered many security vulnerabilities, such as the Shellshock security vulnerability that appeared in September this year. We can complete the update through the Mac App Store.
