When a company or team has more resources, they can't help but want to do more. It seems that products that could not be made before will become a natural result once the resources are in place, and this seems to be a common trap.

Some time ago, a friend came to me and said that he needed to raise funds. From what I understand, what he was doing at the time could already achieve sustainable development, so why was financing necessary? He told me that the purpose of raising funds was to make products, and he felt that new products were necessary to subvert the existing models of his peers. I asked in return, what if this product doesn’t solve the problem in the end? Making new products is another battle in itself.

Seeing that a team that was very successful on WeChat has started to develop an app, I am afraid they are also struggling. Of course, we do not rule out the possibility that they have their own deeper considerations. However, in most cases, doing so is ultimately unnecessary. You know, it costs a staggering amount to maintain sufficient activity on an App, and it is not enough to just develop the product.

Creativity will be stimulated only when conditions are limited, and only then will we always think about improving efficiency. But once all the conditions are met, people forget about them. How many people cannot understand such a simple truth?

The resources mentioned here are usually funds or personnel. The company's new resources should be used as "amplifiers" and multiplication as much as possible, rather than simply addition.

Therefore, don’t just build a community site for no reason. Create fewer apps, hold fewer events, and collaborate less often. Think more about reusing experience and the input-output ratio. Otherwise, what is the difference between you and those big companies?

Some teams lack a sense of security when they don’t have resources, but once they get funding, they start making more mistakes, without restraint, and try to go long. Perhaps they should always ask themselves: Is “more” necessarily necessary?
