The 2020 college entrance examination is over. How to choose a university after the results come out? Today (9), the Ministry of Education released the 2020 national college list, among which Chongqing has 68 regular colleges and universities and 4 adult colleges and universities.

According to the 2020 National College List of the Ministry of Education, as of June 30, 2020, there were a total of 3,005 higher education institutions in the country, including 2,740 general higher education institutions, including 1,258 undergraduate colleges and 1,482 higher vocational (technical) colleges; and 265 adult higher education institutions.

Compared with the number of colleges and universities nationwide announced by the Ministry of Education in 2019, the number of higher education institutions nationwide has increased by 49 from June 2019 to the present, including 52 increases in general higher education institutions (8 decreases in independent colleges) and 3 decreases in adult higher education institutions.

After sorting out the list, it was found that in terms of geographical distribution, Jiangsu Province has the largest number of general higher education institutions, with 167, which has remained unchanged compared with 2019. Guangdong followed closely behind with 154 schools; Shandong ranked third with 152 schools, an increase of 6 from 2019.

Among the 68 general higher education institutions in Chongqing, there are 26 undergraduate colleges and 42 higher vocational colleges. This year, Chongqing added three higher vocational schools, namely Chongqing Polytechnic College, Chongqing Intelligent Engineering Vocational College, and Chongqing Health Vocational College.
