Interpretation of APP advertiser behavior big data in 2017

The data shows that compared with the historical data of the same period in previous years at the beginning of 2017, the Internet industry data still fluctuates greatly due to factors such as the winter vacation and the Spring Festival. Many data reports analyze and interpret the Internet C-end traffic . Today, let’s study the advertising behavior of B-end advertisers in the four industries of online shopping, life services, live video and online reading in the OPPO App Store .

With the development of smart phones and the optimization of economic structure in China, the mobile Internet industry has shown a booming development trend, and the number of mobile applications has increased exponentially. The hottest industry in 2016 is undoubtedly the Internet live broadcast platform .

We conducted research on four industry apps in the OPPO App Store: online shopping, lifestyle services, live video streaming , and online reading. In terms of the number of advertisers in these industry apps, live video streaming topped the industry with 28%, followed by online shopping at 27%, online reading at 24%, and finally lifestyle services at 21%.

For online shopping, each advertiser runs ads for an average of 14 days within 30 days; for life service advertisers, the average run time is 17 days; for live video broadcast advertisers, the average run time is 22 days; and for online reading advertisers, the average run time is 18 days. With the popularity of the industry, live video broadcast still ranks first among the four industries in terms of the number of ads and the duration of run.

Video live streaming ranks first in online time among the four industries, and Meituan is the APP with the longest online time in the TOP20. Corporate advertisers hold on to core traffic channels , while products, services and brands are also the key to ensuring that the company itself has the ability to attract traffic .

Video live streaming accounts for 45% of the TOP20 advertisers, online shopping and life services account for 15% each, and online reading accounts for 25%.

The peak number of online advertisers in the online shopping and life service industries is 0 o'clock, and the lowest is 3 o'clock in the morning; the peak number of online advertisers in live video broadcasting is 23 o'clock, and the lowest is 1 o'clock in the morning;

Online reading advertisers prefer 20:00-22:00. Similarly, 1:00 a.m. is also the trough for the number of online reading advertisers. This shows that 20:00-12:00 is the prime online time for advertisers, while 1:00-3:00 a.m. is the non-prime time that most advertisers choose to avoid.

Industry search data shows that the number of popular search terms for live video is greater than the total of the other three industries, and netizens’ search behavior is mainly based on brand words. Internet users’ search scope mainly includes: video, music, beauty, selfie and live broadcast brand words.

The number of Internet companies in Beijing accounts for almost 50% of the number of Internet companies in China, followed by Shanghai, Fujian and Guangdong. Judging from the distribution of Internet companies, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are still the core development areas of Internet companies, while the Internet boom in Hangzhou, Fujian is the Internet entrepreneurial atmosphere brought by BAT companies.
