How much do you know about Hawking's legendary story? Are his predictions and warnings reliable? (I)

Hawking's full name is Stephen William Hawking. He was born on January 8, 1942 and died on March 14, 2018. He was a British physicist at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He was known as the King of the Universe and the most outstanding theoretical physicist after Newton and Einstein. He is one of the great men of our time who enjoys international reputation.

Hawking has been gone for more than three years. This great and legendary master of science often gave people inspiration and surprises when he was alive. Now that he has been gone for a long time, his legend and charm still influence the world, and from time to time he would make a shocking prediction that often makes people stunned and angry.

So, what legends are there before and after Hawking's life? I have sorted them out and divided them into six aspects. Since the story is very long, I will introduce it in installments from today. These six legends are: 1. His extraordinary achievements despite his disability shocked the world; 2. His happy life and three children; 3. Hawking's mount - a wheelchair full of black technology; 4. His advanced thinking and alien complex; 5. His incredibly rich and active social life; 6. His shocking predictions and warnings.

Legend 1: A disabled person achieved great success and shocked the world

You know, Hawking was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the age of 21 when he was still in college. The disease will kill the whole body bit by bit, and the doctor predicted that Hawking would not live more than two years. But a miracle happened. Although the disease devoured Hawking's body bit by bit, he lived tenaciously for more than 50 years, and lived a wonderful and enjoyable life.

Soon after the onset of the disease, he lost his balance and often fell or rolled down the stairs, so he had to use crutches. He was soon confined to a wheelchair, but was still able to speak and move moderately. Later, his hands, feet and head became paralyzed, and he lost his ability to speak due to an airway incision during a lung infection surgery. Finally, only his eyeballs and three fingers could move.

With this kind of rare severe disability, most people would just sit back and wait for death. But he obtained a doctorate at the age of 23, got married in the same year, and later had three children. He also achieved rare scientific research achievements. Due to his research results in the origin of the universe and the theory of the universe without boundaries, singularity theorem, black hole radiation, etc., he won the world's highest physics award; and his achievements in popular science surpassed any popular science master in the world, and he gained countless fans.

For most of his life, he wrote more than 20 papers and masterpieces on computers and voice synthesizers, relying only on the three fingers he could move. These papers and masterpieces not only inspired science, but also led countless people to become interested in the universe and astronomy, promoted the scientific spirit, and led many people to the path of scientific research.

As a result, Hawking is hailed as the most outstanding theoretical physicist after Newton and Einstein. Due to his outstanding contributions to cosmology and popularization of space science, he is also hailed as the King of the Universe.

A person who was hunched in a wheelchair and weighed less than 25 kilograms achieved great achievements that a healthy person, or even a healthy scientist, could not achieve. Isn't this a legend? Therefore, I am not sure whether there will be no one like him in the future; but there is no doubt that he is a great legend that has never been seen before.

Legend 2: Happy sex life and three children

Many people wonder why Hawking was paralyzed at the age of 21, but was able to get married and have children at the age of 23. Did he take special measures or artificial insemination? After analyzing all kinds of information, the answer is definite: no.

This is also due to Hawking's optimism and tenacity. When the doctor announced that he had only two years to live, it was equivalent to announcing a two-year reprieve from the death penalty, and it must be executed unless the sentence is changed. Most people would be scared to death, and it is very likely that the doctor's prediction would come true.

But Hawking still completed his studies, obtained his doctorate at the age of 23, and married his first wife at the age of 23. Although it is unfortunate that Hawking was diagnosed with this living dead disease, he was happy and lucky, and this happiness was due to his first wife Jane White.

Hawking and Jane White met at a party. At that time, although Hawking could still walk, he was already clumsy, relying on crutches and staggering. ALS was deeply devouring his body. But White was attracted by Hawking's humor and independent character and gradually fell in love with him. One year after knowing each other, she firmly married Hawking in July 1963.

With White's steadfast love and meticulous care for Hawking, Hawking went through his most difficult times. Not only did he have to fight the disease, but they also both achieved career development. In 1967, their first child was born. At this time, Hawking was still able to move around with crutches. When the second child was born in 1969, Hawking was already sitting in a wheelchair.

The third child was born in 1979, when Hawking had been in a wheelchair for more than a decade. Many people were puzzled as to how Hawking, a severely disabled patient, could still have children. Did he take any special medical measures, such as artificial insemination?

To put it bluntly, the doubters thought that Hawking could not have sex. But the fact is that these children were conceived by Hawking's natural sex life. Medical science believes that Hawking was not paralyzed immediately after he got sick, but his condition gradually worsened over time. Therefore, those children were conceived when he was still able to have sex with his wife, but he was not as free as a healthy person.

Hawking himself later responded that ALS only affects voluntary muscles and has no effect on involuntary muscles, so it does not affect childbearing. In this way, we have reason to believe that Hawking was able to have sexual happiness before 1980 or earlier, and was able to make his wife sexually happy, and gave birth to three children in joy and happiness.

Second Wife

It is likely that Hawking's condition worsened after 1980, and his sex life gradually became unhappy. It was at this time that his first wife began to fall in love with someone else. Of course, the reasons for this are very complicated, and it is said that there are religious reasons.

Hawking gradually became an extreme atheist in his scientific research, while White was a devout believer in God. It was this belief that made her shoulder the burden of taking care of Hawking for more than 20 years. She couldn't stand Hawking's increasingly radical atheist views, so she left him. Others believe that Hawking's close relationship with the nurse who took care of him also made White sad, and White fell in love with organist Jonathan Jones, which was also the reason for the breakdown of the marriage.

Indeed, during that period, Elaine Mason, the nurse who took care of Hawking, fell in love with Hawking and even "monopolized" Hawking, not allowing others to get close to him. For such complicated reasons, Hawking finally ended his 25-year marriage with his first wife Jane White in 1990 and married Elaine in 1995.

As to whether Hawking’s second marriage was happy or not, only Hawking himself knows now.

Hawking's second marriage lasted for 11 years, and he divorced Elaine in 2006. For a period of time before that, Hawking often had scars on his body, and some media speculated that Hawking might have been abused. But Hawking denied this. He issued a statement on his hospital bed, saying that the injuries on his body were caused by himself accidentally, firmly refuting the claim that he was abused, and saying that the reason he is still alive today is entirely because of his wife's love and care.

The British police intervened in the investigation, but Hawking was unwilling to press charges, and the investigation was later dropped. But in any case, Hawking regained his happiness. His first wife, White, returned to him after he divorced Elaine and took meticulous care of him. He lived happily with his wife and children in his later years.

In his later years, Hawking was still active on the world stage of science and popular science. It was not until March 14, 2018 that this strong and optimistic heart stopped beating. Hawking left the people who loved him at the age of 76. On March 31, his funeral was held in the church of Cambridge University, and his ashes were buried next to the tomb of Newton, one of the greatest scientists of the same legend. This was also the final conclusion of Hawking's life achievements.
