On July 19, 2022, a case of plague (bubonic plague) was confirmed at the Ningxia Medical University General Hospital.

The patient, Liu Moumou (male, 45 years old, lives in Shanghaimiao Ranch, Otog Front Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and is a herdsman by occupation). At around 9:00 on July 12, the patient felt fever, fatigue, confusion, and watery diarrhea. He returned to Yinchuan from Inner Mongolia and went to Yinchuan Third People's Hospital for treatment. At around 11:00 on July 13, he went to the Fourth People's Hospital of the Autonomous Region for treatment. On July 14, he went to the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University for treatment. On July 19, he was diagnosed as a suspected case of plague and was confirmed as a case of plague on the same day.

At present, in accordance with the requirements of the autonomous region's plague control emergency plan, the autonomous region's people's government has launched a level-four emergency response. Relevant regions and units have fully launched the emergency response mechanism in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and have taken strict classified control measures on epidemic-related areas and personnel. Various disposal work is being carried out in an orderly manner.
