Intrinsic quality indicators of towels

The intrinsic quality of towels includes weight deviation rate, breaking strength, water absorption, hair removal rate, fiber content deviation, color fastness (resistance to soap washing, friction, and chlorine bleaching) and water extracts in towels.

According to the intrinsic quality indicators, the standard divides towels into superior, first-class and qualified products.

The water extract in towels is in accordance with GB/T 27754-2011 "Limits of water extract in towels for household textiles". In this standard, the limits of water extract in towels are shown in the following table. The water extract assessment indicators include pentachlorophenol content, liquid staining, and transparency.

Polychlorophenol (PCP) is a traditional mildew and antiseptic used in textiles, which can prevent the growth of fungi and inhibit the corrosion of bacteria.

On October 27, 2017, the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer published a list of carcinogens, in which pentachlorophenol was included in the list of Class 1 carcinogens. The limit requirement for its content in towel standards is very strict (≤5.0 mg/kg).

Towel appearance quality indicators

The appearance quality indicators of towels include specification size deviation rate, defects, and sewing quality.

In terms of appearance quality, it is still divided into three grades: superior quality, first-class quality and qualified quality.

It can be clearly seen that superior products are "far ahead" in all appearance quality indicators. Linear defects, strip defects, oil stains, color stains and other defects are not allowed. At the same time, skipped stitches and thread unravelling are absolutely not allowed!

How to choose towels scientifically?

First, you need to look at: mainly the label, and look at the grade, implementation standards, etc. indicated on the label.

The standard label of a qualified towel product is mainly composed of 9 aspects, namely product name, fiber content, specification model, washing mark, safety category, certificate of conformity, implementation standard, factory name and address, and quality grade. The safety category is divided into Class A infant standard, Class B adult standard and Class C non-direct skin contact towels. It is best for us to choose products with superior grade according to our needs.

Second, touch: A soft and fluffy towel is better. A good towel is soft and elastic when held in a fist, and no lint falls off when patted. A slippery towel may be coated with water-repellent softener, poor water absorption, and may even become hard after washing.

The third important thing to know: No peculiar smell means that the dye is healthy and environmentally friendly.

What should I pay attention to when using towels?

It is recommended to prepare two face towels. After washing your face and wiping your skin, you should rinse the towel with clean water and then dry it.

Use two towels alternately, and put the unused towels in a ventilated place to dry to avoid bacteria. At the same time, it is best to change towels every three months.

It is best to use a special antibacterial soap to wash the face towel, and do not use laundry detergent, because some laundry detergents are highly alkaline. If the towel is not cleaned during the washing process and then used to wipe the face, it will indirectly "burn" the skin. Although it is not a real burn, it can easily clog the pores during contact with the skin, leading to problems such as acne.
