What kind of smartphone do we need in 2015?

January 29 (Reporter Zhang Zhichang) At the fourth Meizu mobile phone launch event of the lunar calendar year 2014, the rumored LeTV "super phone" finally showed some signs.

This afternoon, LeTV held a press conference with the theme of "Fortunate" to announce the establishment of LeTV Mobile Intelligence Company under LeTV Group.

With the joining of Feng Xing, former vice president of Lenovo Group and general manager of MIDH China Business Department, LeEco Mobile Phone may be officially launched tomorrow. However, what kind of surprises can LeEco Mobile Phone, which will be launched in 2015, bring us?

Super phone? Eco phone?

There is no doubt that the smartphones developed by LeEco Group will definitely be named "super phone". However, apart from the literal "super", what will be the highlight of LeEco phones?

At the press conference, Feng Xing, the new senior vice president of LeEco Holdings and president of LeEco Mobile Intelligence, said, "Based on the vertically integrated complete ecosystem of 'platform + content + terminal + application', LeEco may create China's first ecological mobile phone through completely independent research and development to transform the mobile phone industry. That is, it is not just about manufacturing mobile phones, but about creating a complete mobile Internet ecosystem."

From the already successful Super TV to the Super Car officially announced last week, LeEco's ecological industry chain, which is constantly expanding with its smart hardware products, is becoming increasingly large, and "no content, no hardware" has become the primary starting point for LeEco to create terminal products. However, there are not many successful precedents in the construction of content on the mobile phone side. At present, the domestic mobile phone market still relies on hardware sales as the main source of profit. If LeEco wants to break this mainstream situation, it may not be worthy of the title of "super" if it cannot come up with so-called subversive products.

Feng Xing also announced the countdown status of the super phone at the conference, as well as the product concept of "luxury technology, complete ecosystem, ultimate experience, subversive price". In the specific introduction of the super phone, Feng Xing only revealed details such as "full metal shell, top chip, customized screen" that were not enough to create an imaginative picture. Instead, the sentence "We no longer care about how wide or narrow the frame is, we only care about whether the frame exists or not" ignited the last line of defense for everyone's imagination of LeTV's super phone.

Looking at the domestic mobile phone market, camera phones, music phones, sentimental phones, business phones... Companies position mobile phone products based on certain product performance or consumer classification. There are no successful cases for digging deeper into the industrial value behind mobile phone products. We will have to wait and see whether LeEco will be the pioneer to open this door.

Can super phones continue to create the ecological myth?

In LeTV's corporate slogan of "full screen strength", mobile phones are the smart terminals that it cannot avoid, especially in the past two years, the trend of mobile terminals converging on content products has made smartphones become the common display screen and remote control for all smart terminal products. If LeTV wants to truly connect all its terminal products together, mobile phones will be its final choice. Therefore, it can be concluded that LeTV's research and development of mobile phone products is urgent and important.

LeEco, which has made great achievements in building the industrial ecological chain, will naturally not miss the key connecting role of mobile phones. It is not possible to predict whether LeEco's super phone will create a different third pole in the mobile phone industry, but it is certain that the super phone will definitely connect the existing content of the LeEco ecosystem.

Counting the service content and experience effects currently available in the LeEco ecosystem, it is not impossible to create a new set of mobile-based Internet life. First, the platform side provides cloud services and e-commerce, and the content side provides film and television dramas, self-made, sports, music, variety shows, entertainment, etc., and secondly, application markets, games, etc. More importantly, by connecting all hardware products under the one-cloud-multi-screen ecological architecture, LeEco may also achieve seamless multi-screen connection of smart devices such as cars, mobile phones, and TVs.

Liang Jun also mentioned that the ecosystem created by LeTV is the key for LeTV mobile phones to enter the market. Relying on luxury technology and reasonable prices, it is not difficult for LeTV mobile phones to expand the market; more importantly, through the super phone product, LeTV will push fragmented Internet content to users with an unprecedented experience, and everything will be natural under the support of LeTV's ecosystem.

Of course, these are still just beautiful ideas before the real LeTV mobile phone comes out. It is not necessarily as easy to convince consumers to accept a new brand of mobile phone products through the theory of ecological construction as it is to do super TV. But at least in the "over-performance" mobile phone market, LeTV provides more possibilities for our product selection. Whether it can become the most innovative mobile phone product in 2015 still needs to wait for the official release of the product.
