McLaren 570S special edition unveiled, 25kg lighter

Recently, McLaren unveiled its lightweight version of the 570S model - the 570S Carbon Fiber version, which is based on the McLaren 570S Track Pack.

After McLaren engineers "slimmed down" the 570S, the 570S successfully lost 25 kg. This new carbon fiber kit replaces the seats of the McLaren 570S with carbon fiber material and provides better side support. In addition, it also uses lighter alloy wheels and carbon ceramic brake system, and its steering wheel, dashboard and seats are also made of high-end Alcantara leather. The use of the new carbon fiber kit will reduce the overall weight of the McLaren 570S to 1,319 kg.

Through this "slimming down", the McLaren 570S will have a certain improvement in vehicle performance. According to the official website, its acceleration time from 0 to 200 kilometers per hour is 9.4 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the regular version of the 570S, but its maximum speed has not changed and is still 328 kilometers per hour.

In addition to the reduction in vehicle weight, McLaren also equipped this carbon fiber special edition 570S with a new rear wing, which is 12mm higher than the regular 570S. This new design can provide an additional 29kg of downforce when the vehicle speed reaches 241km/h, thereby improving the vehicle's handling performance and having better handling performance. In addition, the roof design exhaust pipe design from McLaren Special Operations' Dark Palladium will also appear on the carbon fiber version of the 570S.

In terms of price, according to McLaren's official website, this new kit is priced at 19,450 euros and will be officially available for pre-order in early 2017.
