However, an investigation by CCTV reporters found that the youth mode of some apps is ineffective and full of loopholes .

On the evening of December 27, a reporter from CCTV Finance Channel investigated the youth mode of some apps.

Reporters found that some online platforms still have many problems in "teen mode". After a short video app entered the teen mode, it soon displayed content that was obviously not suitable for teenagers to watch, and the five big words "teen mode" below were useless.

What’s more serious is that the password set in “Teen Mode” is usually only four digits, and the password will not be “locked if entered incorrectly multiple times” , which means that users can repeatedly guess the password and unlock it.

Experts pointed out that even if an application is limited to 40 minutes, the total time spent online cannot be controlled if multiple applications are used on a mobile phone, making it difficult to fundamentally solve the problem of teenagers' addiction to the Internet.

Experts also said that in order for the youth anti-addiction system to truly exert its power, it requires not only Internet companies to conscientiously fulfill their social responsibilities, but also the joint efforts of all sectors of society to create a clear cyberspace for the healthy growth of young people.
