Recently, there was news from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that in addition to the 3.0T and 4.0T engines currently on sale, the new BMW 6 Series that will soon be launched will also have an automatic transmission + 2.0T engine power configuration.

After replacing the engine with a small displacement, a major change in the 2.0T BMW 6 Series is its lower fuel consumption. According to data given by the official automobile fuel consumption label, this model named BMW 630i has a comprehensive fuel consumption of only 7.1 liters per 100 kilometers.

However, what will inevitably follow is the power of the new car, and there will be a certain degree of sacrifice. The BMW 6 Series will be equipped with a 2.0T engine model B48B20B with a rated power of 211kW. But you have to know that the current BMW 640i with a 3.0T inline 6-cylinder turbocharged engine and the BMW 650i with a 4.0TV8 turbocharged engine have acceleration times of 8 seconds and more than 10 seconds per 100 kilometers respectively. The power of this small 4-cylinder 6 Series in the future can be imagined.

Fortunately, in terms of price, which is what domestic consumers are more concerned about, the consumption tax rate for the 2.0T will be reduced from the original 12% to 5%. Coupled with the reduction in manufacturing costs, the actual market price of the new car is expected to be less than RMB 700,000.

Luxury brand, coupe appearance, 7 mpg per 100 km, and lower price, who cares about power? BMW obviously understands the psychology of domestic car buyers very well, and hopes to get a share of the market when domestic users are interested in medium and large luxury coupes.
