Samsung introduced the concept of giant phones to everyone in 2011 with the release of the original Galaxy Note. At the time, the 5.3-inch, stylus-enabled device was pretty weird. It was basically the anti-iPhone in terms of form and function, which is one of the reasons why it was so good. Now, years later, after last year's massive recall, Samsung's Galaxy Note series is suddenly in a precarious position. How can users trust that the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 won't have another battery explosion? Should Samsung rename the Note series to avoid last year's problems affecting the new products? Should they still release new Note phones? Most importantly, what is the difference between the Note series and the Galaxy S series? There is no doubt that the Note series has played a key role in Samsung's mobile product strategy since its launch, and the S Pen has provided a lot of practical value - at least for those who use it. The Note 7 was Samsung's most impressive product release last year, and if it hadn't been recalled, it would have been the best phone of the year in many people's minds. But based on what we know, the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 may not be so exciting. According to multiple reports, the main feature of the Note 8 will be a dual-camera setup, which many phone manufacturers, including Apple, already offer in their products. It may also have more memory (6GB) and a larger screen size (6.3 inches). Unfortunately, it may not have an embedded fingerprint sensor. It can be said that the Note 8 is just a slightly upgraded Galaxy S8 Plus at best. Considering that the Note series and Galaxy S series have become so similar, why doesn't Samsung just integrate the features of the former into the latter so that they don't have to split their energy between three phones and can only focus on the development of two Galaxy S phones. So when the Galaxy S9 Plus is released next year, why not add stylus support to it? Large screens and large batteries are the unique advantages of the Galaxy Note series, and these are no longer available. The Galaxy Note 8 may be very similar to the Galaxy S8 Plus, but this is not a bad thing at all. Samsung should also continue its product launch tradition of releasing two flagship phones in the spring and another in the fall. Because if Samsung cancels its fall product launches, it will have no competitive advantage when facing Apple's new iPhone releases every September. There is no doubt that this year's Note 8 will definitely be Samsung's most important product launch. Not only will it be the most technologically advanced phone on the market, but it will also have to clean up the mess left by the Note 7. The failure of the latter has disappointed fans, and Samsung obviously cannot mess it up again this time.
