Watermelons growing in the air? Unlock a new way to grow watermelons!

In the hot summer, what fruits can you eat to cool down and quench your thirst?

Watermelon must take first place!

As for watermelons, you may have eaten seedless ones, yellow-hearted ones, extra large ones, and very mini ones. But have you ever seen what it looks like growing in the air?

What you are seeing now is a "new way" of growing watermelons - three-dimensional planting of watermelons with hanging vines. This planting method can fill the air with the sweet scent of watermelon. The "hanging" watermelons appear and disappear between the vines. The round watermelons convey the signal of a good harvest.

Do you know what advantages the "hanging vine three-dimensional planting" mode has compared to the "ground climbing vine" planting mode?

The traditional watermelon varieties are planted in the "air watermelon" by using the hanging vine three-dimensional planting technology. This mode uses artificial traction to let the vines grow along the grid, which not only saves planting space and improves the utilization rate of land resources, but also effectively improves the quality of watermelon. The plants grow upward, which is more ventilated and breathable, and receives light more evenly, reducing diseases and insect pests, making the watermelon skin thin, sweet, and good in shape, which is more popular in the market; the number of hanging watermelons per acre is doubled, achieving a high yield effect.

We recommend the "hanging vines three-dimensional planting" mode for small watermelons, and the "ground climbing vines" planting mode for large watermelons

Do you know the precautions for small watermelon seedling care?

Stage 1: Planting watermelon seedlings

If the leaves of the seedlings you just bought are a little wilted, you can fill a basin with water, put the seedlings in the hole pot, wait for a day, and when the leaves stand up again, you can transplant them.

Prepare a pot of at least 5 gallons. If you don't use a gallon pot, you will also need at least 5 gallons of soil. (Watermelon is a crop with a well-developed root system. The bigger the pot and the more fertilizer, the bigger the fruit.) Prepare the soil, dig a small hole in the middle, and transplant the watermelon seedlings directly into the soil with the soil. Then cover it with soil again, and compact the soil around the main stem of the seedlings.

Potting soil ratio: When planting watermelon, the base fertilizer should be sufficient, which can reduce the number of subsequent topdressing, and the seedlings will grow stronger in the early stage.

Peat soil + rice husk + perlite + base fertilizer (sheep manure soil, earthworm soil, soybean meal fertilizer, mixed with "Bacillus subtilis" to prevent mildew)

If you find that the leaves of the seedlings dry out quickly after planting, you need to spray water on the leaves. Then you need to use a plastic bag with small holes poked on it and cover the seedlings to prevent the leaves from losing moisture quickly.

Stage 2: Watermelon seedlings acclimatization

After planting, the seedlings need to be watered thoroughly, and the water must flow out from the bottom of the pot. If the pot has a large amount of soil, you can water it several times, and finally put it in a place with scattered light and ventilation. Then you can wait and see. Generally, new leaves will grow in 6-7 days. When new leaves grow, it means that the seedlings have been successfully grown. They should not be exposed to the sun during the growth period. After that, they can be placed in the sun for normal maintenance.

It is not recommended to water during the seedling acclimatization period, because the soil does not have much moisture, which is conducive to the growth of the plant's roots. Excessive watering can easily cause the plant to become slender, weak and leggy.
