Trumpchi GE3 530 is launched with a NEDC comprehensive operating range of 410km, starting at RMB 129,800

On August 27, GAC New Energy's Trumpchi GE3 530 was officially launched for sale. The new car has four models, with an official guide price of 220,500-246,500 yuan, and a post-subsidy price of 129,800-155,800 yuan.

Trumpchi GE3 530 is an upgraded version of the current GE3, with the main improvement being the battery capacity, which increases the NEDC comprehensive operating range to 410km.

GAC Trumpchi GE3 530 continues the appearance of GE3. The front face also adopts the family-style "Lingyun Wing" design concept and many triangular youthful elements.

The slender grille in the middle of the car is a fully enclosed design. The uneven diamond design on the surface highlights the visual three-dimensional sense. It is decorated with a through-type chrome strip and forms an "integrated" design with the triangular headlights on both sides.

The body size of the new car is consistent with the current model, with a length, width and height of 4346/1825/1637mm respectively and a wheelbase of 2560mm. It is positioned as a small pure electric SUV.

The GAC Trumpchi GE3 530 version is equipped with a new permanent magnet synchronous motor and a ternary lithium battery pack. The main change is the upgrade in battery capacity, which has been increased from 47kWh on the current GE3 to 54.75kWh. At the same time, the battery energy density is also greater than 160Wh/kg, and lightweight technology has been used. Compared with the battery pack on the GE3, it has been reduced by 28kg, which makes the average power consumption per 100 kilometers address 14.7kWh, allowing the GE3 530 version to achieve a NEDC comprehensive operating range of 410km.

In terms of vehicle size, BAIC New Energy EX360 and Chery Tiggo 3xe are the most direct competitors of GAC Trumpchi GE3, but in terms of price after subsidies, GAC Trumpchi GE3 530 version is almost catching up with compact SUV models such as BYD Song EV400 and Roewe ERX5.

If the market is to be segmented, the GE3 500 version is more like a boutique small pure electric SUV, positioned between the two types of vehicles.

The "double upgrade" of battery energy density and driving range can also obtain the largest total subsidy, which is 1.32 times the national subsidy, and the national subsidy + local subsidy (for example, in Beijing) totals 91,000 yuan. The intelligent interconnection system jointly developed with Tencent also enhances the sense of technology and practicality.

The range of 410km has already made the GAC Trumpchi GE3 530 version enter the "mainstream" mid-range array in 2018. After all, the range of a medium-sized pure electric SUV is just 500km.

According to official statements, it will release its second-generation pure electric dedicated platform in 2019.
