Some industry insiders said that after Tesla was localized, the price of Model 3 changed many times, and even increased and then decreased in the short term, which was mostly affected by changes in domestic subsidy policies. It is reported that the electric vehicle subsidy rules jointly issued by four ministries require that the price of subsidized passenger cars must be equal to or less than 300,000 yuan. However, on April 24, the prices of the standard version and long-range version of Tesla Model 3 increased by 4,500 yuan and 500 yuan respectively. Soon after, on May 1, Tesla lowered the starting price of the standard version of Model 3 to within the subsidy range, that is, within 300,000 yuan. The price after subsidy is 271,550 yuan, but the price of the long-range version of Model 3 remains unchanged. However, Tesla soon changed its mind. On May 14, Tesla announced another adjustment to the prices of its domestically produced cars. The long-range version of Model 3 was reduced by 22,500 yuan. The subsidy transition period will end on July 22, and the price will remain at 344,050 yuan when the subsidy was in place. In addition, Tesla CEO Musk announced online yesterday that Tesla's fully autonomous driving kit (FSD) will increase in price by US$1,000 on July 1 to US$8,000, equivalent to RMB 56,800. The failure to maintain stable prices in the short term has greatly affected consumers' enthusiasm for purchasing and damaged Tesla's brand reputation among old users.
