According to foreign media reports, in Apple's fourth quarter earnings conference call, CEO Cook focused on the new business "wearable devices". He said that Apple's overall sales of wearable devices in Q4 2017 increased by 75% year-on-year, and the scale is equivalent to that of a Fortune 400 company in the United States.

Of course, the wearable device business that Cook refers to here may include Beats headphones and Airpods in addition to Apple Watch.

According to statistics, Calpine, currently ranked among the top 400 US companies, had sales of $6.7 billion last year. This means that Apple has surpassed traditional companies such as JetBlue Airlines and even Activision Blizzard, a well-known game manufacturer that has developed "StarCraft" and "Overwatch", in terms of performance based on wearable device business alone.

In recent years, after the market popularity of smart watches and smart bracelets gradually faded, there have been continuous voices in the technology field that are pessimistic about the development of wearable devices.

However, technology giant Apple still seems to be able to make a lot of money in this unpopular product category. Some people summarize the reason as that since the birth of Apple Watch, Apple has continued to manufacture the best wearable devices in the manufacturing industry, but others think that this is because of Apple's brand influence and ability to build an iOS device ecosystem, which makes it difficult for other brands to achieve.
