Tesla blames State Grid for new car failure, official apology: recording edited

On February 1, Tesla officially issued an apology statement in response to the situation in which car owners in Nanchang were unable to start their cars after charging.

In response to the previous statement that the reason was "excessive current in the State Grid", Tesla said that the recording of the communication was edited, which caused misunderstanding among netizens and brought troubles to the State Grid Nanchang Company. Tesla expressed its apologies.

Tesla also stated that the problems encountered by users have been properly resolved and the cause of the failure is under further investigation.

Recently, Mr. Tu, a consumer from Nanchang, reported that the Tesla Model 3 he had just purchased six days ago could not be started after charging it using Tesla's official super charging station. The entire car was out of power and even the windows could not be closed, so they could only be temporarily covered with paper.

After investigation, Tesla after-sales department informed Mr. Tu that the car's inverter was burned out, and said the reason was that the instantaneous current when the car was charging was too large.

The after-sales manager said that although Mr. Tu used Tesla's super charging pile, the current of the national power grid was too large, causing an overload. For Mr. Tu's loss, Tesla after-sales can only replace the damaged inverter for free.

In response to this issue, State Grid Nanchang also issued a statement saying that Tesla's own charging stations use unique charging technology standards. The cars are connected to the power grid through special devices rather than directly connected to the power lines, and other surrounding electrical equipment are all normal and in compliance with national standards.

Finally, State Grid Nanchang Power Supply Company also stated that it reserves the right to pursue responsibility for any adverse effects caused by inappropriate and unrealistic online remarks.
