Radio signals coming from 9 billion light years away, are they from alien civilizations? Netizens: Don’t answer!

In the science fiction film "The Three-Body Problem", Ye Wenjie received a radio wave from space, which translated into "Don't answer", but Ye Wenjie sent a reply, and the Trisolarans locked the Earth's coordinates, thus triggering a 400-year battle between humans and the Trisolarans.

This plot is accepted by many people, and even the late famous scientist Hawking supports this view.

Recently, a huge radio telescope in India captured a radio signal sent by a galaxy called "SDSSJ0826+5630" 9 billion light-years away from us. This is the farthest radio signal received by humans so far. Astronomers are excited and believe that they can better study and confirm the age of the universe.

But many netizens were nervous and left messages saying "don't answer". They were worried that as described in the novel "The Three-Body Problem", this would lead to an alien invasion and the human race on Earth would suffer a devastating disaster.

This is a bit funny. "The Three-Body Problem" is just a science fiction novel. It does not mean that the universe is really a dark forest where civilizations kill each other. Moreover, astronomers around the world receive radio waves of one kind or another almost every day. So far, there is no evidence to confirm that any radio waves sent by intelligent civilizations are basically radio waves generated by natural phenomena of celestial bodies.

The "SDSSJ0826+5630" galaxy is 9 billion light-years away from us, which means that it took 9 billion years for the radio waves received this time to reach our Earth. Moreover, this signal was magnified many times by gravitational lenses before it was received by humans.

And if we "reply" a radio wave, it will take 9 billion years to get there. If there really is an alien civilization there, their level is very high, and their spacecraft can reach the speed of light. It will take 9 billion years for them to invade the earth. And in these 18 billion years, what will human beings become, and whether they still exist? Who knows?

What's more, the radio signals sent by humans now are still very weak and cannot be transmitted to such a distance.

In fact, more scientists in the world scoff at the so-called "Dark Forest Law", believing that it is just a reflection of the ideology of human beings at a low stage of civilization and cannot represent the consciousness of cosmic civilization at all. It can only be viewed as science fiction and should not be taken seriously.

Astronomers have repeatedly used the latest technology and equipment to search for extraterrestrial civilizations, including sending radio waves into space and the coordinates of optical discs brought by probes. They very much hope to find like-minded humans, otherwise humans will be too lonely in this vast universe.

Therefore, “don’t answer” is really an ignorant joke. People who have this complex should just go to bed as soon as possible.
