Mobile phones have long become a must-have for people when eating, but whether listening to news or watching videos, one has to use one hand to operate the phone; when running at night while listening to music, one has to stop from time to time and use his hand to switch the playlist... So is it possible to make the phone obey just by moving the lips? In this regard, Baidu founder Robin Li said at the Baidu World Conference held on November 16 that such a scenario "will be realized by the end of this month." At Baidu World, Robin Li demonstrated a smarter AI interaction mode through a video he recorded himself. In the video, Robin Li, who was having breakfast, clicked the "headphone" icon of Baidu on his mobile phone to use the TTS function, and he could freely control the information flow of Baidu on his mobile phone with voice. He only needed to complete the interaction in the form of normal speech to "listen to the news" at will. At the same time, voice commands can also be used to adjust the playback order, search encyclopedias, adjust the volume, and other functions. Robin Li said that this function "does not require pressing or speaking, and does not require a wake-up word, just like talking to a person." Moreover, he also revealed that the above functions will be available on the voice version launched by Baidu Mobile at the end of November. This will obviously become a magic tool for Baidu's information flow service to greatly improve the user experience. Voice interaction is an important means of human-computer interaction in the AI era, but in Li Yanhong's view, this technology has not yet achieved full humanization. "Whether it is a conversation on TV or a conversation with an AI speaker that we usually see, there is actually a basic threshold. The user either needs to press a button before speaking, or needs a wake-up word. This wake-up word should still require four words so that the machine knows that you want to talk to it. But in fact, we don't need to call the other person's name every time we talk to them." He said that the breakthrough of Baidu's technical team in Baidu TTS on mobile phones has crossed this threshold, bringing users a simpler and smarter way of human-computer interaction. In fact, as early as 2015, Baidu News launched "humanized voice broadcast", which enabled users to have a highly humanized human-computer interaction experience when obtaining news. This time, the voice control function of the mobile Baidu TTS broadcast has undergone a new upgrade and iteration after accumulating a large amount of user feedback and interaction data. Users can play music, listen to news, and watch videos while driving, exercising, or dining, truly realizing "freeing their hands". As a winner of Toutiao's Qingyun Plan and Baijiahao's Bai+ Plan, the 2019 Baidu Digital Author of the Year, the Baijiahao's Most Popular Author in the Technology Field, the 2019 Sogou Technology and Culture Author, and the 2021 Baijiahao Quarterly Influential Creator, he has won many awards, including the 2013 Sohu Best Industry Media Person, the 2015 China New Media Entrepreneurship Competition Beijing Third Place, the 2015 Guangmang Experience Award, the 2015 China New Media Entrepreneurship Competition Finals Third Place, and the 2018 Baidu Dynamic Annual Powerful Celebrity. |
