At present, new infrastructure and smart transportation have become important directions for local governments to accelerate the intelligent transformation of cities. In August 2020, Guangzhou Development Zone in Huangpu District, Guangzhou City and Baidu Apollo reached a cooperation on the "Smart Transportation 'New Infrastructure' Project for Autonomous Driving and Vehicle-Road Collaboration", with a total amount of 460 million yuan. It is understood that since the implementation of the dynamic green wave strategy, the average travel time of the six roads has dropped by 25%, and the average number of stops at red lights has dropped from 3-4 times to 0-1 times. Among them, Kaitai Avenue has achieved green lights all the way through 12 intersections from east to west. At present, all 25 traffic light intersections where the tram line 1 in Huangpu District passes have realized tram priority. In the "new infrastructure" project, 10 intersections on Xiangxue Avenue have also started intelligent priority. Since the system was launched, the average number of tram priority passages per day has reached more than 1,200 times, and the average daily train passing through the intersection has saved a total of 15 hours, helping to shorten the average tram travel time from 56 minutes to 40 minutes, saving about 28% of the travel time per trip, and truly implementing the public transportation priority strategy in terms of time dimension.
