China's first autonomous driving platoon road test group standard approved, KargoBot takes the lead in compiling

Recently, Didi's self-driving freight KargoBot front-mounted mass-produced L4 truck obtained the Beijing Intelligent Connected Vehicle Policy Pilot Zone Self-driving Truck Road Test Notice and was allowed to conduct public road tests on Beijing's open roads.

This is the second time that KargoBot has been allowed to conduct road tests in Beijing, following the approval of the aftermarket model for the Beijing Intelligent Connected Road Test License in early 2022. Compared with aftermarket self-driving trucks, pre-installed mass-produced models not only meet vehicle regulations in terms of safety and technical reliability, but can also achieve large-scale production at a lower cost. The approval of pre-installed mass-produced models for road testing places higher demands on the company's technical research and development capabilities and the implementation of autonomous driving technology solutions.

Obtaining the Beijing autonomous driving truck road test notice requires a series of processes such as closed test field verification, autonomous driving capability assessment and expert review. KargoBot's pre-installed mass-produced models have obtained the road test notice, which means that Beijing government departments and testing agencies recognize KargoBot's technical strength and autonomous driving road test management system. Recently, Beijing has added the Beijing section of the Beijing-Taipei Expressway, the Daxing Airport North Line Expressway and part of the Daxing Airport Expressway for autonomous driving truck road testing. KargoBot will also conduct autonomous driving truck cargo testing on open highway sections in Beijing.

Unlike other autonomous driving companies, KargoBot adopts a hybrid intelligent mode, in which a driver drives a pilot vehicle with L2 assisted driving function, leading multiple L4 autonomous driving trucks to improve logistics transportation efficiency in various complex scenarios in medium, short and long distances.

Recently, the group standard "Test Content and Methods of Autonomous Driving Vehicle Formation Driving Capability" jointly compiled by KargoBot, Tsinghua University, BAIC Foton, Fuyou Truck, etc. was approved by Zhongguancun Zhitong Intelligent Transportation Industry Alliance. This is also the first group standard for autonomous driving formation road testing in China. This standard is the first to regulate the basic performance, driving ability and emergency response of autonomous driving trucks in formation driving on highways and closed national roads, which will help autonomous driving companies build a safe and orderly road testing system and further improve safety capabilities.

Earlier in May, KargoBot completed actual vehicle testing at the Ministry of Transport's Highway Traffic Comprehensive Test Field, and successfully passed the autonomous driving platoon capability test of the national automobile quality inspection and testing center (Tongzhou, Beijing), a national-level testing agency, and its platoon system capabilities were recognized.
