BYD: BYD's new energy vehicle production in October 2022 was about 220,100 units and sales were about 217,800 units

Recently, BYD announced its production and sales report for October 2022, with a production of approximately 220,100 new energy vehicles and sales of approximately 217,800 vehicles.

The cumulative automobile production this year is about 1.4117 million units, a year-on-year increase of 233.53%; the cumulative automobile sales this year is about 1.3979 million units, a year-on-year increase of 233.92%.

The company sold a total of 9,529 new energy passenger vehicles overseas in October 2022. The company's total installed capacity of new energy vehicle power batteries and energy storage batteries in September 2022 was approximately 10.188GWh, and the cumulative installed capacity in 2022 was approximately 67.681GWh.

Compared with other domestic brands, BYD's current sales volume is far ahead, and it has completely opened up the gap with Volkswagen Group China and Toyota. Even Honda, one of the Japanese car brands, the total sales of the two joint venture brands Dongfeng Honda and GAC Honda in October was only half of BYD's sales.

If we look at the new energy vehicle market in detail, taking the data from September as an example, the sales volume of BYD alone is equivalent to the sum of the four manufacturers ranked second to fifth, which means that for every 10 new energy vehicles sold in China in September, 3 were BYD.

In addition, as BYD's sales soared, its operating performance also continued to grow. The third quarter financial report showed that BYD's third quarter operating income was 117.081 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 115.59%; the net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 5.716 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 350.26%.
