Alibaba and Skyworth jointly release smart TVs to join Alibaba Cloud system

     [September 10 news] Previously, Alibaba launched a box and encountered obstacles in its attempt to build the Alibaba Smart TV Ecological Alliance. The traditional color TV manufacturer Skyworth denied joining the Alibaba TV operating system. However, yesterday (September 9), a media outlet broke the invitation letter from Alibaba, which stated that Alibaba and Skyworth Group will release their new Coocaa TV in Beijing on the morning of September 10. Multiple sources pointed out that in this cooperation between Alibaba and Skyworth, Alibaba will pre-install its Alibaba Cloud system into the new Coocaa TV.


    According to people familiar with the matter, Alibaba intends to integrate its Alibaba Cloud system into Skyworth's new Coocaa TV in this cooperation with Skyworth. If the cooperation goes smoothly, the Alibaba Cloud operating system is expected to be pre-installed in Skyworth's other smart products, but no specific information about the cooperation was disclosed.

    In this regard, relevant industry insiders said that the cooperation with Skyworth will inject strong product support into Alibaba's living room strategy. Skyworth can also rely on Alibaba's rich Internet resources to realize its home Internet strategy. Just like the TV+ products jointly developed by iQiyi and TCL, the products jointly developed by Alibaba and Skyworth are also worth looking forward to.

    Data from AVC shows that the market penetration rate of smart TVs has gradually increased in recent months, reaching 46%. It is expected that this figure will reach 52% during the National Day holiday.
