Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro review

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro review
Galaxy Tab Pro has come to us. Its 8.4-inch screen size and 7.2mm thickness have once again amazed people. How is the performance of this product? The screen is said to have the highest PPI at present. How delicate is it? With these questions today, let's take a look at the performance of Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro. First of all, before the evaluation, let's take a look at the configuration parameters of Tab Pro. This tablet is equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 801 processor, with a main frequency of 2.3GHz; in terms of GPU, it uses Adreno330 graphics display chip; 2GB RAM memory, 16GB ROM storage capacity, and support TF card expansion to 32GB, 8.4-inch screen, resolution of 2560×1600, front 2.1 million pixel camera, rear 8 million pixel camera, body thickness is only 7.2mm, and the current official price is 2999 yuan. Previously, we wrote about the 12.2-inch product review of the Galaxy Note Pro series. In addition to the Note Pro, the Tab series of Samsung's latest tablet series, which was unveiled at the CES in January 2014, has also been upgraded. Like the Note Pro, the Tab Pro has a large size of 12.2 inches and has also been upgraded to 8.4 inches and 10.1 inches. As a brother series that keeps pace with the Note series, the Tab series lacks the support of the S-pen in terms of configuration, but has gained higher portability. The moment we got our hands on it, the extremely narrow frame of the 8.4-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro left a deep impression on us. It is available in black and white, with 16GB/32GB of memory to choose from, and with LTE and WiFi versions, there are 6 versions of the 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab Pro to choose from. With different sizes, the Tab series alone has a total of 18 versions. The Galaxy Tab Pro is extremely light and thin. The 11.76 ounces (about 330g) and 0.28 inches (about 7.1mm) given on the official website undoubtedly lead the portability of small-sized tablets again. We compared Samsung's previous generation Tab 3 8.0 and Note 8.0, as well as many current small-sized tablet flagships. Samsung's 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab Pro is undoubtedly the best among them. After actual testing, we got the real data that this tablet is 7.14mm thick and weighs 328g. The weight of the 7.9-inch Apple iPad mini 2 is 331g, so in terms of portability, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro is still very advantageous. The front appearance of Samsung's ultra-narrow frame edge is only about 6.5mm, and the overall screen-to-body ratio exceeds 74%. In terms of buttons, Samsung's original tradition is maintained. In addition to the oval Home button in the middle, the left and right are touch-sensitive function keys. Just above the body is a 2.1-megapixel front camera and a light sensor, which are used to adjust the screen brightness in real time. Turning to the back, we can see that the texture of the back is somewhat leather-like. This process has been used since the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 version. Compared with the previous metal or glass back panels, it is more beautiful and has increased some anti-slip properties. The design of the side frame is the author's favorite. The white front panel is matched with the sidebar with a metal brushed frame, which gives a glittering feeling as a whole. In terms of buttons, in addition to the volume adjustment and power buttons on the right side, there is also an infrared transmitter. In fact, infrared devices are not common in electronic products. I remember that when Bluetooth was not yet popular, early mobile phones still used infrared for file transfer, but the slow speed was really outrageous. However, the infrared device on the right side of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro is not used to transmit data. Its function is to match Samsung TVs, which can turn Tab Pro into a remote control for Samsung TVs. Maybe this is a small detail, but it is Samsung's strategic deployment to create an integrated smart home. In the center of the bottom of the fuselage is the more common Micro USB port, and there are two relatively large speakers on the left and right. When held vertically, the sound effect is good, but when held horizontally, the hands can easily block the speakers. This is somewhat similar to the design of the iPad series of tablets, but the disadvantages are the same. Speaking of portability, it may be a point of concern for users. At present, many tablet manufacturers on the market are under the banner of portable tablets, but are these tablets really highly portable? First, let's take a look at the weight of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro. The actual weight of this product is 328g. What is the concept of 328g? The author casually selected a few small objects on the desk for measurement, pear 290g, double folding umbrella 340g, 20oz porcelain empty cup 431g. So from this point of view, the weight of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro is closest to the weight of a double folding umbrella. From this, friends can imagine whether they will feel heavy if they put an umbrella in their bag when they go out. In terms of body size, Samsung eliminated the 7-inch screen size in the Tab Pro series launched this time. The Tab Pro series has three body sizes, namely 8.4 inches, 10.1 inches and 12.2 inches. The sizes of the Tab 3 series before this were 7 inches, 8 inches and 10.1 inches. I personally think that Samsung eliminated the 7-inch screen this time from the user's perspective. The 8.4-inch screen may have the highest portability while ensuring a good visual experience for users. However, there is a problem that cannot be ignored. Men will carry a shoulder bag less often when going out, so a 7-inch screen product can still be put in the trouser pocket, while the 8.4-inch screen in the pocket will indeed affect some body movements. Of course, the screen ratio of this product is 16:10, the overall appearance is relatively slender, and its ultra-narrow frame makes it very convenient for boys to hold it with one hand. Compared with female users, it may be a little difficult to hold it with one hand. However, its 328g weight still feels very strong in the hand, without any pressure, and the experience of holding it to watch movies, videos and play games is still very good. The only thing you need to pay attention to about this product is that when you carry it outdoors, due to the large screen of the Galaxy Tab Pro, the screen's ability to withstand impact is weak when it falls or is hit by sharp objects. Therefore, you should be extra careful when carrying it out. After all, a product that costs 3,000 yuan is not a small number.
