Dual micro-architecture, 14 models in use The Snapdragon 400 series is a mid-range product of Qualcomm's mobile chip solution. It has two core versions: dual-core and quad-core. The dual-core version has two core architectures: 1.7GHz Krait 300 CPU and 1.2GHz Krait 200 CPU. The quad-core version has a maximum 1.6GHz ARM® Cortex™ A7 CPU core architecture. Models include 8028, 8228, 8628, 8928, 8926, 8030AB, 8226, 8230, 8230AB, 8626, 8630, 8630AB, 8930, 8930AB. 8X26, 8X28, 8X30 three small series MSM8x26: released at the end of 2012, using quad-core Cortex-A7 micro-architecture, the highest frequency of 1.2GHz (later upgraded to 1.6GHz), used by Moto G, ZTE Red Bull V5 and many 1,000 yuan 4G mobile phones that have been born. MSM8x28: released at the end of 2013, quad-core Cortex-A7 micro-architecture, the highest frequency of 1.6GHz. Among them, 8028 is codenamed APQ, and the models using it include Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10; the rest are MSM. MSM8x30: released in early 2013, it is Snapdragon's own dual-core Krait 200 architecture, the highest frequency can reach 1.2GHz, and the representative mobile phones are HTC One mini, Samsung GALAXY Mega 6.3, Sony XPERIA L. In addition, like the current Snapdragon 800 8974AB, the 8X30 series also has an "upgraded version" such as 8X30AB. The upgrade is that the 8x30AB chip uses the same Krait 300 architecture as the Snapdragon 600, and the highest main frequency is increased to 1.7GHz. In the same small series, "X" represents different network support. For example, "0" means that there is no on-chip modem and the manufacturer needs to select it separately. "6" is the CDMA version, which is what we usually call the Telecom version, and "2" is the WCDMA/UMTS/HSPA+ version, which is what we call the Unicom version. These are widely used in the 3G era. "9" means that a single chip supports all TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, CDMA2000 and LTE standards. Snapdragon 400 Performance Introduction Regarding the most basic quality of Snapdragon 400 - performance, since all models are not available at present, last year's Snapdragon 200/400/600/800 performance test is used here for a brief understanding. Due to the different resolutions of each model and the later specifications of Snapdragon 400, the total score has also appeared in the following tests. The score is around 15,000 to 17,000. In terms of graphics performance, referring to the database of the famous test software GFXBench, it can be seen that the Adreno 305 GPU of Snapdragon 400 has a score ranging from 18 to 35fps in the Egypt HD Onscreen scene test (depending on the screen resolution), and the resolution of most models is at the level of qHD to 720p, and very few use 1080p screens. From the perspective of positioning, 1080p screens have not yet been widely adopted in the ranks of thousand-yuan machines, and the performance level of Snapdragon 400 can meet daily use without pressure for 1080p screens, but it is a bit stretched when outputting super-large game screens. As it is targeted at the general public rather than the extreme fever, the Snapdragon 400 not only takes into account the performance but also pays more attention to the control of power consumption level. Both the ARM public version of the Cortex-A7 core and the Snapdragon's own Krait 200 have good performance in terms of power consumption; the latter also has the strength to challenge the power consumption of competing quad-core products. In addition, the high integration of Snapdragon's multimedia is also perfectly demonstrated on the Snapdragon 400. The Snapdragon 400 processor is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon Audio+, which can bring a full range of sound effects to music, movies and games in smartphones, achieving cinema-level sound quality. In terms of photography, Qualcomm Snapdragon Pic+ has also made significant improvements in image stabilization, low-light shooting and HDR. Shooting in automatic mode is more comfortable, and the improvement of HDR function has greatly reduced the ghosting. The reason why it is widely adopted by mid-range 4G phones is that although the Snapdragon 400 is targeted at the general public, it also has the third-generation Qualcomm Gobi modem, which can support download rates of up to 150Mbps on the 4G LTE network. Qualcomm Gobi MDM9X25 chip is manufactured with 28nm process and is the first modem to support LTE Advanced. The Gobi series modem has multi-mode integration to achieve global coverage and seamless mobility. It already supports 7 cellular standards, 17 LTE voice modes and up to 40 frequency bands. It also supports TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE modes, making it fully prepared for the upcoming 4G LTE era. For China's emerging 4G market, Snapdragon 400 is the best choice for the general public to try 4G ultra-fast networks. The performance can meet the daily needs of these users while the power consumption level is satisfactory. Although the highly integrated SoC is behind the scenes, the new experience in music, video and photography can still be easily felt.
