SIA: Global semiconductor sales fell to US$39.7 billion in February 2023, down 20.7% year-on-year

The latest data released by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) shows that global semiconductor sales continued to decline in February.

Data from the Semiconductor Industry Association's official website showed that global semiconductor sales in February were US$39.7 billion (currently approximately RMB 273.136 billion), a decrease of US$10.3 billion (currently approximately RMB 70.864 billion) from US$50 billion (currently approximately RMB 344 billion) in the same period last year, a year-on-year decline of 20.7%; it was also a decrease from US$41.3 billion (currently approximately RMB 284.144 billion) in the previous month, a month-on-month decline of 4%.

John Neuffer, president and CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association, revealed that after continuing to decline month-on-month in February, global semiconductor sales have declined month-on-month for six consecutive months .

Regarding the semiconductor industry, John Neuffer said that short-term market cyclicality and changes in macroeconomic conditions have led to cooling sales, but thanks to the growth in demand in a range of end markets, the mid- to long-term prospects for the semiconductor market remain bright.
