After being completely banned by Tencent WeChat, Microsoft's artificial intelligence chat robot "Xiaobing" that it has spent half a year to build is looking for a way to "revive". Recently, Microsoft (Asia) Internet Engineering Institute announced that it will provide Xiaobing services to MiLiao and YiXin users. Microsoft claimed in the announcement that after Xiaobing was stopped by WeChat on June 1, the product team of Microsoft (Asia) Internet Engineering Institute received a large number of requests from ordinary users on social networks and emails, hoping to see Microsoft Xiaobing return as soon as possible. At the same time, Microsoft received cooperation intentions from more than a dozen Chinese Internet companies. After quick and effective communication, Xiaobing has now reached a strategic cooperation with MiLiao and YiXin. It is understood that MiLiao and YiXin are instant messaging (IM) tools similar to WeChat. MiLiao was launched by Xiaomi and currently has 50 million users. It was launched earlier than WeChat; YiXin is an IM software jointly launched by NetEase and China Telecom, with more than 80 million users, but compared with WeChat's 600 million users, it is still a drop in the bucket, but at least it can revive Xiaobing in the short term. In the future, users of Mi Chat and Yixin can add Microsoft Xiaobing as a friend and pull her into a group chat to achieve human-computer dialogue, and then have a series of functions such as Xiaobing group reminders, encyclopedia, weather, traffic guides, and restaurant reviews. Since the end of May, Microsoft Xiaobing has experienced a very dramatic scene. As soon as it was launched, it was once pulled into 1.5 million WeChat groups. After becoming popular overnight, it only survived for three days before being banned by WeChat, which also set off a war of words between Microsoft and Tencent WeChat. WeChat claimed that Xiaobing's operating method was suspected of leaking user chat content, and that it had violated regulations such as simulating user operations and inducing users to pull groups. Microsoft responded that "Xiaobing never steals users' privacy." Perhaps it was because of the huge user base of WeChat with nearly 600 million that Microsoft, which was dependent on others, did not completely break up with Tencent WeChat. The relevant person in charge of Microsoft said that it was still actively communicating with Tencent to find a better way to express itself on WeChat, and the timetable and details of Xiaobing's resurrection on WeChat were inconvenient to disclose. The industry pointed out that the dispute between Microsoft and Tencent is a fight for data. WeChat is worried that XiaoIce will master its own operating data, which will threaten its development strategy or certain interests. Today, XiaoIce is trying to break out from platforms such as Mi Chat and YiXin, but these two platforms are difficult to compare with WeChat in terms of the number of users, and their influence is limited. Therefore, losing WeChat will cause great harm to XiaoIce products. Others believe that products such as Mi Chat and YiXin, which have always been difficult to shake WeChat's position in the IM market, also hope to leverage Microsoft XiaoIce's marketing and promotion, but users do not seem to have formed a stickiness to Microsoft XiaoIce. From this perspective, I am afraid that XiaoIce's boosting effect on Mi Chat and YiXin is also limited.
