81% screen-to-body ratio: Sharp AQUOS Phone hands-on

For fans of Japanese mobile phones, the AQUOS Phone Zeta SH-04F launched by Sharp for NTTDoCoMo really needs no introduction, because from the moment it was released, it was destined to attract the attention of most Japanese mobile phone fans. Even if you may not like its unbalanced three-sided narrow frame design, you will still be attracted by its 81% screen-to-body ratio (at least for me personally). SH-04F is available in three colors: black, white and orange, and the one we played with was the most special orange. Its special feature is that it uses a three-stage color scheme of black>orange>black, and a circle of orange border is added between the black surface and the bottom of the machine. Although it cannot be said to be very good-looking, it is definitely recognizable at a glance. The front and back of the body adopt the same double-glass design as Sony, and the side of the machine is slightly tilted towards the back of the machine. The buttons are concentrated in the upper right position of the body. Although the power and volume buttons are in the same position, we can still easily distinguish the positions of the two by touch. Like the Japanese waterproof phones in recent years, except for the SIM card/microSD slot, the 3.5mm and micro-USB ports are not protected by waterproof covers. Generally, we have to press the power button to turn on the screen, but on the SH-04F, we just need to hold the phone - because it has grip sensors on both sides of the body, just like the SH-01F. As long as the two sides sense pressure, they can display the clock or lock the screen according to the user's settings (the latter is the default). And as long as you keep holding the phone, the phone's screen will not dim or turn off, and the auto-rotation function will also be suspended. In terms of system, it runs Android 4.4, and the default interface is DoCoMo's LiveUX. In addition, it can be switched to simple mode or Sharp's own FeelUX through settings. In terms of camera, its hardware is not much different from most current flagship phones. They all use 13 million pixel sensors (SH-01F is 16.3 million pixels), and in terms of software, except for the addition of 4K video shooting, the interface is not much different from the previous generation. It's just that when we press the arrow in the lower left corner of the originally very simple shooting interface, the phone will default to activate the composition assistance function, detect objects in the picture and prompt the user where to put them. Finally, of course, we have to mention its shocking 5.4-inch 1080pIGZO screen. Although the display quality is not yet the best, it feels that its viewing angle and color cast are improved compared to previous models. However, if you look at it from a lower angle, you can see that the backlight overflows a little. By the way, in terms of price, the orange model currently costs HK$5,200 (about 4,175 yuan), while the black and white models cost HK$5,000 (about 4,015 yuan).
