LeTV mobile phone is coming: it has been registered with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology

LeTV's mobile phone, whose launch date has been repeatedly postponed for various reasons, is accelerating its public sales.

Tencent Technology checked the relevant information on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and found that on February 11, 2015, two LeTV mobile phone models, Letv X600, had passed the registration. The applicant and manufacturer were both LeTV Mobile Intelligent Information Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and the manufacturers also included Quanta Computer Technology Co., Ltd.

According to Tencent Technology, LeTV's mobile phone was originally scheduled to be launched at the end of last year or before the Spring Festival, but was eventually postponed due to various reasons such as cooperation with chip manufacturers and the release of Xiaomi NOTE.

As early as October 2013, Tencent Technology first disclosed LeTV's plan to enter the mobile phone market in the article "LeTV Brewing Mobile Phone Plan"; LeTV Mobile Intelligent Information Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. was officially registered and established around July last year and is affiliated to LeTV Holdings.

LeTV's mobile phone business was actually first incubated in LeTV Zhixin, a subsidiary of LeTV.com, and has some overlap with the super TV business line. In the future, it will be gradually separated and injected into LeTV Mobile Intelligence.

According to Tencent Technology, LeEco's mobile phone business is currently controlled by a holding company and a listed company, and some investors are already in contact. Such measures have reduced the adverse impact of LeEco's new business on the profits of the listed company and ensured the maximization of the interests of the listed company's shareholders. Obviously, the super mobile phone business has investment risks, and the financial burden in the past few years is heavy, and it is likely to continue for several years. If it is operated by a listed company, it will greatly drag down the financial data. You know, LeEco Zhixin's loss last year reached about 100 million yuan.

On January 28 this year, LeTV held a press conference to officially confirm its entry into the mobile phone field, announcing that LeTV Mobile Intelligent Information Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. had been registered and established. Feng Xing, former general manager of Lenovo Group's MIDH China Business Department, served as senior vice president of LeTV Holdings and president of LeTV Mobile Intelligent Company, reporting directly to Jia Yueting, chairman and CEO of LeTV. Feng Xing said at the press conference that the mass production time of LeTV Super Phone has entered the countdown.

LeTV Mobile may release at least two products with different positioning at the same time, targeting the low-end and high-end markets respectively, with prices ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 yuan. LeTV Mobile will be connected with LeTV's content and super TV.

Information obtained by Tencent Technology from insiders of LeTV's mobile phone partners shows that LeTV has already finalized cooperation with operators such as China Mobile, and will integrate LeTV Sports, LeTV Mall, LeTV content and LeTV platform accounts into the mobile phone system.

From the hardware perspective, Feng Xing revealed that LeTV's phone will have an all-metal shell. According to Tencent Technology, the chips will be products from MediaTek and Qualcomm , and LeTV's phone will also use Qualcomm's flagship mobile processor Snapdragon 810.
