Ledao L60 battery replacement + visual system, Zeekr 7X fast charging + laser system, which car is more worthy of your purchase

On September 19, the first model of the Ledao brand, the Ledao L60, which had been preheated in the market for a long time, was officially launched on the market with a price range of RMB 206,900-255,900. The next day, the first mid-size SUV of the Zeekr brand, the Zeekr 7X, was also officially launched on the market with a price range of RMB 229,900-269,900.

Both cars are pure electric mid-size SUVs, and their prices are relatively close, so it can be said that they are evenly matched. If you want to buy a pure electric mid-size SUV, these two cars are likely to enter the final "finals". So, how do you choose between these two cars?

Appearance: All very young?

The rise of domestically produced cars started with their appearance, which is particularly evident in the field of new energy. Ledao L60 and Zeekr 7X come from different brands, but they have certain similarities in appearance design.

Ledao L60 is NIO’s second brand, but it does not adopt NIO’s family design. It has a closed front face with split headlights and a large-size air intake grille, which has a more obvious youthful color.

The Zeekr 7X uses a through-type light strip. Compared with the Ledao L60, the front face of this car looks tougher, which is also a design style that young people like.

Space: Too hard to tell?

Both cars are mid-size SUVs, and both have good performance in terms of space. Compared with joint venture fuel vehicles of the same price, both cars have certain advantages in terms of space.

The length of the Ledao L60 is 4828mm and the wheelbase is 2950mm, while the length of the Zeekr 7X is 4825mm and the wheelbase is 2925mm. The two cars are slightly different in body size, but the space experience they bring is relatively similar, and both can meet the daily needs of users.

At the same time, both cars adopt a large five-seater design, which is more suitable for young consumers and families of three or five. It is a bit difficult for families with three generations living together, and they are more suitable for 6-seater or 7-seater models.

Intelligent driving: a battle for routes?

Intelligent driving is the hot spot of competition in the current new energy vehicle market. All major mainstream manufacturers have their own intelligent driving systems, and Ledao and Zeekr are no exception. However, on the issue of intelligent driving, Ledao L60 and Zeekr 7X have taken different routes.

The Ledao L60 is equipped with an NVIDIA Orin-X assisted driving chip, as well as perception hardware such as 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars and 1 millimeter-wave radar, but it is not equipped with a laser radar. In other words, it adopts an intelligent driving solution based on visual perception.

The Zeekr 7X, on the contrary, is equipped with a laser radar provided by RoboSense, as well as a high-definition camera, millimeter-wave radar and ultrasonic radar. This is currently the most popular intelligent driving solution with laser radar as the core.

Although the technical routes are different, the performance of Ledao L60 and Zeekr 7X in intelligent driving has reached a relatively high level. Both cars provide L2+ level intelligent driving. Active braking, lane departure warning, transparent chassis, automatic parking, automatic lane change assistance, etc. are all present in these two cars. At the same time, they also support high-speed and urban NOA functions.

Therefore, the two cars are almost evenly matched in terms of intelligent driving. However, the visual perception route is not popular at present, and most new energy vehicle manufacturers are taking the fusion perception route. Consumers also believe more in the role of laser radar in improving intelligent driving, so Zeekr 7X is more reliable.

Power system: battery swap vs. pure electric

Weilai and Ledao are both unique in the domestic new energy vehicle market, because they mainly promote the battery swap model, which is significantly different from most other manufacturers. So, which one is more worth buying, the Ledao L60 that adopts the battery swap model or the Zeekr 7X that adopts the fast charging model?

All Ledao L60 models are built on the 900V silicon carbide platform and are available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models. The former has a maximum power of 240kW, and the latter has a system power of 340kW. The cruising range is divided into 525km, 555km, 700km, and 730km. It also supports 3.3kW external discharge function.

The maximum power of the single-motor version of Zeekr 7X is 310kW, and the maximum power of the dual-motor version is 475kW. The cruising range is divided into three types: 605km, 705km and 780km. Compared with Ledao L60, Zeekr 7X has obvious advantages in power performance. At the same time, this car also supports 800V high-voltage platform, and is almost on par with Ledao L60 in terms of fast charging speed.

However, it should be noted that Ledao L60 has a unique battery replacement and battery leasing model. According to the BaaS battery leasing plan provided by Ledao, if customers purchase a car by leasing a battery, the starting price is only 149,900 yuan, the monthly rental fee for a 60kWh battery is 599 yuan, and the monthly rental fee for an 85kWh battery is 899 yuan, which can greatly reduce the user's car purchase and use costs.

At the same time, Ledao L60 has another feature, that is, it shares the battery swap network with NIO. So far, the number of available battery swap stations for Ledao L60 has exceeded 300, and by the end of 2024, more than 1,000 available battery swap stations will be provided, and by the end of 2025, the number of available battery swap stations will be expanded to more than 2,500.

At this rate of expansion, Ledao L60 and other Ledao L60 models to be launched in the future can enjoy convenient battery swap services, which will greatly alleviate the anxiety of pure electric models in terms of battery life, thus solving the problem that users are most concerned about. From the current situation, more and more consumers are accepting the battery swap model, so Ledao L60 is still quite attractive.

How to choose?

Overall, the Ledao L60 and Zeekr 7X both have good performance in terms of overall performance, and can be said to be first-class in the entire pure electric mid-size SUV market. In terms of appearance, space, smart driving, etc., the two cars can be said to be comparable, and the biggest difference actually lies in the power system.

In terms of power performance alone, the Zeekr 7X is undoubtedly the stronger one, but the range anxiety of pure electric vehicles has always been a concern for consumers. Even though the Zeekr 7X has increased its range to 780km and supports 800V high-voltage fast charging, it is still difficult to solve this problem.

The battery swap mode of Ledao L60 solves this problem better, but it is only suitable for areas with relatively complete battery swap infrastructure. If there are not enough battery swap stations near your residence or work, it may be troublesome. Compared with charging stations, the number of battery swap stations can only be regarded as a fraction. It is just that the battery swap process is faster, but it is unlikely to provide battery swap in the underground parking lot of the community like charging piles.

Therefore, which one to choose depends on your own car usage habits and living environment. Both Ledao L60 and Zeekr 7X are very competitive, but the same old saying goes, the one that suits you is the best.
