Apple iPhone 11 users can disable Ultra Wideband feature in iOS 13.3.1 Beta 2

Some users have reported that even after turning off location services, Apple iPhone 11 and 11 Pro can still track users' location and other privacy data. In the latest iOS 13.3.1 beta 2, Apple has added a switch specifically for the UWB function.

According to foreign media reports, some users have recently discovered some changes in iOS 13.3.1 Beta 2: users can now disable the ultra-wideband function. When turning off the ultra-wideband function, Apple will inform users that turning off the "Network & Wireless" location may affect Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and ultra-wideband performance.

Earlier, some users discovered that even after turning off all available location service switches (except the main switch), the iPhone 11 Pro continued to track the user's location. As the reason is still unclear, it has attracted a lot of attention.

Initially Apple said they had not noticed any issues: "It is normal for the Location Services icon to appear in the status bar when Location Services is enabled. This icon will appear for system services that are not toggled in Settings." Later Apple added that the UWB chip in the new iPhone is not widely recognized worldwide, so the iPhone 11 uses Location Services to check if UWB is available. An Apple spokesperson said: "Ultra-Wideband location data is not uploaded to Apple servers, and Apple does not collect user location data." Finally, Apple said in December that it would bring a switch that allows customers to completely turn off the Ultra-Wideband feature.
