Brand Finance: 24 Chinese brands are selected into the top 100 global automotive brands in 2025

Brand Finance, a British brand evaluation agency, released the "Automotive Industry Report 2025", revealing the list of "The 100 Most Valuable Auto Brands in the World in 2025". 24 Chinese brands including BYD, Geely and Ideal made the list, with BYD ranking 12th and ranking first in Chinese brand value.

Among them, Toyota surpassed Mercedes-Benz and Tesla with a brand value of US$64.7 billion, becoming the world's most valuable automobile brand.

The report pointed out that Toyota's emphasis on hybrid technology is in line with consumer demand, and it has performed well in optimizing production and maintaining profitability, achieving continued growth through AI-driven supply chain management and a strong product portfolio even in the face of rising raw material costs.

Meanwhile, Tesla's brand value fell 26% to $43 billion, dropping to third place.

The decline was mainly due to its failure to meet revenue expectations, increased market competition, and price cuts in key markets such as China.

Mercedes-Benz's brand value also fell 11% to $53 billion, mainly due to the company's failure to meet revenue targets twice for 2024 and a slowdown in the Chinese market that affected its overall financial performance.

In contrast, Ferrari's brand value increased by 36% to $14.4 billion, making it the fastest growing brand, with its success driven by high-profile F1 sponsorship, high-end lifestyle partnerships and focus on hybrid technology.

At the same time, by controlling exposure to the Chinese market, the impact of fluctuations in luxury consumption is avoided.
