App Store's ability to make money is amazing. Apple's software service strength makes Android tremble

Apple announced today that the App Store broke a record on New Year's Day, with users spending $240 million on January 1, 2017. In December 2016, Apple users spent $3 billion on the App Store.

Not only that, Apple also announced that developers made a total of $20 billion in profits throughout 2016, an increase of 40% over 2015.

It is worth mentioning that the App Store has been launched in 155 countries around the world. The application revenue in the App Store's major sales markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and China has increased by 90% compared with 2015.

Apple said in a press release that the App Store earned $240 million in revenue on the first day of 2017, including app purchases and in-app purchases, thanks to popular games such as Pokemon Go, Super Mario Run, and others. Currently, there are 2.2 million apps in the Apple App Store, up 20% from last year.

Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president, said: "2016 was a great year, with developers earning $20 billion, and the sales record set on January 1, 2017 is off to a great start. We want to thank the developer community for bringing us many innovative applications. They and our products make users' lives more colorful."

In addition, in the past 2016, App Store's subscription revenue also achieved a significant increase, reaching US$2.7 billion, a 74% increase compared to 2015. Among them, "Netflix", "HBO Now", "Line", "Tinder" and "MLB.com At Bat" were the applications with the highest subscription rates last year.
