The US Patent and Trademark Office disclosed a new patent from Apple today, a so-called thin and light portable accessory that can be paired with an iPhone or iPad to transform into a notebook. This new accessory has two styles, both of which are somewhat similar to notebooks. One of them has a screen, physical keyboard, GPU graphics card, output interface, etc., but no CPU. It has a groove reserved in the touchpad area, which can hold an iPhone and mainly provides CPU power. The other type has no screen and can be equipped with an iPad to provide the screen and CPU. There is also a traditional touchpad on the C side, so naturally an iPhone is no longer needed. The design of this accessory seems to have absorbed many elements from the MacBook, at least the aluminum alloy material is mentioned, indicating that it can also be made very thin and light. As for how the iPhone and iPad communicate with it, Apple did not disclose in detail, it should be some kind of interface similar to Lightning or Smart Connector. In fact, Apple is not the first to come up with a similar idea. Motorola once launched a WebTop, which would turn into desktop mode after connecting to a Motorola phone, and the experience was similar to that of a PC, but it was a pity that it was short-lived.
