Someone tested the IQ of current mainstream AI and found that they are not as smart as a 6-year-old child

Ever since Siri was introduced on the iPhone 4s in 2011, the topic of artificial intelligence has become increasingly hot, and various jokes teasing Siri are heard everywhere.

Although the newly released Siri is not as sci-fi as imagined, it can already answer simple questions asked by people, can also joke with people, and setting reminders by voice is also its basic ability.

After the next few upgrades, Siri began to understand the meaning of the context. At the same time, its semantic understanding ability continued to improve, and it was able to continue to communicate with users.

With the arrival of the iOS 11 update, Siri has been upgraded again. Now Siri sounds more like a "human" and has a translation function. Of course, these functions are also possessed by other artificial intelligence partners.

Even though Siri has evolved significantly since it was first introduced six years ago, it may not be the most used AI assistant on the market.

Artificial intelligence assistants from giants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Microsoft's Cortana all have their own strengths, and Siri may not have much advantage in some aspects.

Faced with so many artificial intelligence assistants on the market, many people have already made various comparisons among them, wanting to see which one can talk to people, which one can understand semantics better, and which one can perform more operations. Simply put, people want to know which one is smarter.

A team from the Center for Virtual Economy and Data Science Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences recently conducted a unique test to test the IQ of several current mainstream artificial intelligences.

After a series of tests, Google AI's IQ score was 47.28 and Siri's IQ score was 23.9. For reference, the IQ of a 6-year-old child is 55.5.

It can be said that judging from the data, the IQ of artificial intelligence is indeed not even as good as that of a six-year-old child, and Siri's IQ is even worse.

The team from the Center for Virtual Economy and Data Science Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences also tested the IQ of Microsoft and Baidu AI, which were 31.98 and 32.92 respectively, both higher than Siri.

However, Siri's IQ is not as good as that of several other competitors, which may also be related to Apple's policy. Several other competitors generally upload data to remote servers, and after the huge amount of data is mixed together, it will be processed by calculation, so that the machine can learn more data.

Almost all of Siri's calculations and data processing are completed by Apple devices. Apple has also stated that it does not care about user data. As a result, what Siri can learn can be said to be quite limited. In addition, Apple has strict control over the Siri interface, and the operations it can perform are limited to its own or certified devices.

Although this may make users who care about personal privacy feel more at ease using Siri, it may slow down the development of an artificial intelligence assistant.

You may think that these artificial intelligences are not even as intelligent as a 6-year-old child, so how can they be called artificial intelligence? But artificial intelligence is actually like humans, constantly growing and learning.

In my opinion, being worse than a 6-year-old child does not mean that it is a denial or belittlement of artificial intelligence. Instead, it allows people to see that there is still a lot of room for the development and evolution of artificial intelligence.
