Although Honor's X series is not as dazzling as the digital series, it has always been very popular in the mobile phone market due to its high cost-effectiveness.

Take the Honor 9X series as an example. After only nine months on the market, its shipments in China exceeded 10 million units, making it a veritable “national mobile phone.”

Perhaps aware of the importance of the X series, Honor announced that the X series will move the letter "X" forward and change to the form of "X+number". On May 20, we saw the first new product after the "reorganization" of the X series - Honor X10.

Although the name has changed, the Honor X10 still continues the cost-effective characteristics of the Honor X series, supporting 40 million RYYB high-sensitivity images, the most complete 5G network frequency bands, and the most powerful 5G chip Kirin 820 in its class.

90Hz refresh rate + 92% screen-to-body ratio

On the front of the body, the Honor X10 is equipped with a 6.63-inch lifting full screen. Since the front camera is removed, the screen-to-body ratio of the Honor X10 reaches an astonishing 92%.

It is worth noting that the screen of Honor X10 also supports a 90Hz refresh rate. From the parameters, the Honor X10 uses a 40-megapixel RYYB high-sensitivity lens + 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle + 2-megapixel macro triple-camera combination. Since Huawei started researching 5G technology very early, Honor X10 has obvious advantages over its competitors in 5G networks.

First of all, Honor X10 fully covers 9 5G frequency bands, including n41, n78, and n79. Therefore, even if there are frequency band changes in the future, Honor X10 can still perfectly support 5G networks. In contrast, the products of other competitors only cover 3 or 4 5G frequency bands, and it is very likely that they will not be able to keep up with the trend of the times in future network changes.

In addition, the Honor X10 also uses 1T4R antenna technology. Compared with the traditional 1T2R antenna, the number of antennas in the Honor X10 is exactly doubled, so users can experience lightning-fast download speeds.

Using Speedtest to measure, the 5G download speed of Honor X10 reached 799Mbps. Considering that 5G construction has not yet been completed, operators will actively limit users' network speeds. Therefore, it is excellent that Honor X10 can achieve such a result.

Performance on par with flagship phones

The Honor X10 is equipped with the Kirin 820 5G SOC chip, which is manufactured in 7nm process and has a maximum main frequency of 2.36GHz. The GPU is a 6-core Mali-G57, which uses system-level intelligent diversion technology to bring smoother picture performance.

In order to intuitively feel the performance of Honor X10, we first let it run the benchmark software.

After actual testing, the AnTuTu score of Honor X10 reached 355490 points. From the running score, we can clearly feel the brutal performance of Honor X10.

Of course, just like taking photos, even if the running points are excellent, it does not mean that the Honor X10 will definitely bring strong performance. Therefore, we chose the mainstream popular online game "QQ Speed" to test the performance of the Honor X10 when actually running the application.

Through the data recorded by Gamebench, we can find that the Honor X10 can always maintain above 70 frames when running "QQ Speed". In contrast, most traditional mobile phones on the market can only maintain around 55 frames.

When experiencing it, you can also clearly feel the shocking visual experience brought by the Honor X10's 90Hz refresh rate screen - every drift, overtaking, and turning is smoother, as if you are really driving a car.

Of course, in addition to powerful performance, the heating problem of the machine cannot be ignored. In order to control the heat, the Honor X10 is equipped with graphene heat dissipation technology, which can quickly direct the SOC heat to the back of the body and dissipate it.

After running "QQ Speed" at a high frame rate for half an hour on the Honor X10, we tested its body temperature and found that the highest temperature appeared on the upper part of the body, but it was only 40.2 degrees Celsius. It felt only warm to the touch. It seems that the temperature control of the Honor X10 is indeed very good.

Uncompromising 22.5W fast charging

In order to avoid the battery life shortcomings caused by the high power consumption of 5G, the Honor X10 is equipped with a large 4300mAh battery. Correspondingly, in order to avoid the large battery charging time being too long, Honor also equipped the X10 with a 10V 2.25A, 22.5W fast charge.

In order to test the battery life of Honor X10, we let it run "QQ Speed" continuously for an hour. In the end, Honor X10 only consumed 17% of power. Converted to daily, a day of heavy use should not be a problem.

Using the original charger to charge the Honor X10, it only takes thirty minutes to charge 55% of the power, and the body of the Honor X10 does not show any obvious heat.

Combining the battery life and charging of Honor X10, on the one hand, Honor X10 has the ability of long battery life, and on the other hand, even if it runs out of power, it can be quickly replenished through fast charging technology, which basically solves the "battery anxiety" in our daily life.

Although the price is very attractive, we have not seen any compromise in the Honor X10. On the contrary, whether it is appearance, performance or photography, the Honor X10 has the confidence to compete with flagship phones.

Looking at the industry, in Q1 2020, total smartphone shipments in China fell by 20.3% year-on-year.
