The first M8 phone was launched in 2009. It is no exaggeration to regard Meizu as a pioneer in China's smartphone industry. However, in the past decade, Meizu's sales volume has fallen behind the market due to its constant adjustment of its product line. Despite this, the small and beautiful feature is still engraved in every Meizu product like its DNA. Don't look at sales volume, look at products. Meizu carefully polishes its products, and each one is unique. In the world of identical Android, whether it is configuration or software system, Meizu is using such products to stand out from the crowd, and constantly conveys the product values that belong only to Meizu to users. In this era of expanding with the strategy of using the vast number of devices, Meizu's small and beautiful product line is obviously contrary to the trend, but it is actually quite in line with the brand's tone. However, Meizu's delivery speed will also slow down. For example, this time, the Meizu 17 was also released late after the market had been eagerly waiting for a long time. Although some "kerosene" fans are anxious, the product is finally out. I recently got a Meizu 17 in the color of a fantasy unicorn. After using it for a few days, let's talk about this unique and independent mobile phone that sold well during the 618 period. First of all, let’s talk about the appearance. Meizu phones have always been proud of their appearance. After so many years, they are still very competitive, just like the ones in "Sisters Riding the Wind and Waves". Their charm between frowns and smiles is incomparable to that of the hyaluronic acid young actresses. The front of the phone uses a punch hole screen, and the front camera is placed on the upper right side of the screen. The diameter is only 2.99mm, which is almost invisible in daily use, increasing the sense of unity on the front, without the asymmetry of the notch screen. In addition, the Flyme system's thoughtful power display design hides the hole in the system bar, cleverly improving the overall look of the front. To be honest, this investment is not small, but users may not be able to see its benefits at a glance. Only after you experience it yourself, you will feel it is amazing. In addition, the front of the Meizu 17 also uses an equal frame design, but the chin is slightly wider, and the overall look is very symmetrical. In addition, the whole machine uses a 50:50 body weight, and the integrated ceramic design on the back of the body makes it feel very good in the hand. Moreover, the concept of balance pursued by the Meizu 17 is not only reflected in the front, but also in the four horizontally placed rear lenses, with Meizu's iconic ring flash as the central axis, and the sense of balance is everywhere. Just taking the color scheme of Dream Unicorn as an example, the pure white frame on the front is rarely seen in today's flagship models. This also shows that Meizu has always maintained an independent mentality. In terms of configuration, as its first 5G mobile phone, Meizu 17 can be said to have put a lot of effort into hardware this time. The entire series is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor as standard, 90hz high refresh rate screen, which can be opened to 120Hz after system update, mEngine 3.0 linear vibration motor, dual linear speakers, 4500mAh large battery and so on. The Snapdragon X55 5G baseband paired with the Snapdragon 865 can achieve a maximum downlink speed of 7GB, supports millimeter wave and sub-6GHz frequency bands, as well as SA independent networking and NSA non-independent networking modes. In conjunction with Meizu mSmart 5G technology, through base station prediction, signal detection and other optimization solutions, it can bring a more "fast, economical and stable" 5G network experience. Due to the standardization of configuration, the configuration and performance of the Meizu 17 and Pro versions are not much different. The only differences are in the charging specifications and the rear camera. The Pro version has a 32-megapixel customized wide-angle and TOF lens, while the standard version has an 8-megapixel wide-angle plus a macro lens. However, the main camera is a 64-megapixel Sony IMX 686. If you are not particularly concerned about taking pictures, the two versions are not much different in terms of fundamental user experience. The score of AnTuTu is 573073, which is considered to be in the upper middle level in the entire AnTuTu score list. During the entire test process, the temperature did not exceed 37°. It can be said that Meizu 17 does a good job in temperature control. With good performance, it is no problem to use it to run games. I tested two completely different types of games, "Honkai Impact 3" and "Peace Elite". There was no obvious frame drop during the game, and it was kept at around 60 frames throughout. According to Meizu, the OneMind 4.0 built into the Meizu 17 can effectively improve performance, reduce write latency, and significantly reduce the power consumption of the phone. At the same time, a burst rendering engine has been added, which controls the fluctuation of the game frame rate within 5 frames through new rendering logic and reasonable performance allocation. From actual tests, the stable frame rate of the game should verify the usefulness of OneMind 4.0. Next is the camera part. As mentioned before, the rear cameras of the Meizu 17 standard version and the Pro version are different. The one in my hand is the standard version, so the image taken is definitely not as good as the Pro version. But even so, the finished product of Meizu 17 did not disappoint. In well-lit conditions, the Meizu 17 performs very well, with rich colors and details. Even if it is not natural light, there is no obvious noise. The transition between bright and dark areas is also clearly layered, and the whole picture looks very comfortable. Even in dimly lit areas, the Meizu 17 can maintain its high resolution. The entire picture looks very crisp, and the details of light and shadow are also very clear. When shooting at close range, the Meizu 17 can also capture details very well, and the sparse hair on the cat's head is well captured. In the night scene with a real lack of light, the Meizu 17 Standard Edition seems to be a little struggling. The noise in the night sky is quite obvious. Although the brightness is moderate, there are obvious smearing marks after zooming in. However, unless you want to be a full-time late-night photographer, the performance of Meizu 17 is actually enough for ordinary people. Finally, let's talk about the real cornerstone of Meizu phones - Flyme system. This was one of the reasons why many people chose Meizu phones, and many of Meizu's design ideas are also reflected in the system. However, in today's era of "I'll have your good stuff tomorrow", the design advantage of the system is just a patch away. As long as other manufacturers really want to follow up, it will be difficult for Meizu to attract users from the system alone, but this does not prevent Meizu 17 from continuing to come up with some new gadgets. The most eye-catching one is definitely the small window mode 2.1. To put it simply, this system is a drawer-style shortcut entrance. Just drag your finger at the bottom corner of the screen to pull out a program shortcut bar, and you can add any program to this shortcut bar. After that, when you open any program, whether you are watching a movie or playing a game, just pull out this shortcut bar and click on the program you set, and a small window will pop up on top of the current application to run the program you set. For example, if a WeChat reminder suddenly comes when you are playing a game, you can open WeChat to reply while the game continues to run in the background, or watch Douyin while waiting for the game to load. Other small changes such as some system fluency and optimization of usage efficiency show that Meizu still attaches importance to system-level construction. It is a pity that most consumers in the current mobile phone market pay more attention to hardware than software, and the replicability of software also determines that it cannot become a real treasure. In general, the Meizu 17 has regained some of the spirit of the Meizu back then, whether it is the complementary appearance and system, or the addition of small details such as color matching and 50:50 ratio, it reminds us of the era of boutiques dominated by design. At present, we have been bored by the sea of machines for too long, perhaps we need a unique and independent mobile phone like the Meizu 17.
