.NET is open source, Visual Studio starts to support Android and iOS programming and comes with an Android emulator

At the Connect() conference held early this morning Beijing time, many programmers' fantasies became reality. .NET is open source, integrated with Clang and LLVM, and comes with an Android emulator, which means that Visual Studio, the most popular IDE at the moment, officially supports writing Android and iOS programs.

The meeting, which was announced to core users several times via email before it started, did not disappoint: Visual Studio and .NET really began to move towards cross-platform. Nadella's "mobile first, cloud first" and "finding Microsoft's original essence" finally came together. This company, which started out as a developer tool/platform provider, began to provide services to Android and iOS developers after providing users.

.NET This open source includes .NET Framework Libraries, .NET Core Framework Libraries and RyuJit VM, allowing developers to write .NET programs that run on Mac OS X and Linux. In addition, Microsoft has begun to provide free Visual Studio Community 2013 to individual developers, which is equivalent to the original Visual Studio Professional free for individuals. The open source is carried out under the MIT agreement and provides open source guarantees (patent promises).

In addition, the conference also revealed information about Visual Studio 2013 Update 4 and the next generation of Visual Studio/.NET preview. The preview of Visual Studio 2015 and .NET 2015 includes a .NET compiler platform called "Roslyn", which supports writing applications for iOS, Android, Windows and even other platforms in C#, C++ and HTML/JavaScript. In addition, the new version of Visual Studio 2015 also has a built-in Android emulator, which is naturally far superior to the emulator provided by Google (VS is better).
