Cocos Chengdu Developer Salon unveils the mystery of cocos 3D functions and H5

On July 2, the Cocos Developer Salon held at Chengdu Shifen Coffee focused on the 3D functions and H5 development that are currently popular in the mobile game industry, which set off the scene.

In addition to the two big names from the cocos team - Lin Shun, senior technical director of Touch Technology, and Liao Yulei, technical director - also present at the salon were Xing Wenchao, an architect from UCloud, Zhu Yanglin, general manager and technical consultant of Testin Southwest Region, and Huang Chaobin, business VP of DataEye. They gave speeches from different perspectives, introducing to developers how their respective products can help developers develop good games more efficiently.

As the mobile game engine with the largest market share in China, the development direction of Cocos engine has always attracted much attention in the industry. Lin Shun, senior technical director of Touch Technology, explained to everyone on the spot the three important directions of Cocos engine in 2015: First, integration and basic performance improvement. Cocos2d-x 3.7 beta0 version has been released. In the new version, Cocos2d-x engine and Cocos2d-JS framework are integrated, and binary Framework library customization function is supported. The official version will be released in mid-July. The Cocos tool chain is integrated, which is more convenient to use and covers the entire game development process, including the game engine framework, game scene editor, code debugging tools, resource store, and game simulator; second, the 3D function. 3D mobile games have begun to develop in China and South Korea. Currently, the basic functions have been completed at the framework level, and the 3D editor also supports 3D scene editing functions. This version adds sky boxes and terrain, and the next version supports 3D physics editing. The 3D editor is the current focus, and its functions will be further enhanced; third, mobile web games. Cocos Play brings a Runtime accelerator to HTML5 games, which greatly improves the performance and commercialization capabilities of the games.

In short, as the mobile game industry becomes more and more complex and difficult, the Cocos engine strives to become simpler and more elegant, and does its best to reduce the burden on developers.

Liao Yulei, technical director of Touch Technology, introduced the super cool feature of Cocos Play, which allows users to play games by clicking on it. Cocos Play uses the engine and renders to the browser, and uses a virtual machine, native engine, and game mode to achieve the goal of playing games by clicking on it, eliminating the need for downloading and installing games. Cocos Play makes it easy for mobile games to enter the era of micro-ends.

UCloud architect Xing Wenchao brought his expertise and told everyone how to build the most challenging games with the most advanced cloud. Testin Southwest General Manager and Technical Consultant Zhu Yanglin's speech was very pragmatic. He analyzed multiple real-life cases and answered the industry question of how to improve the quality and stability of mobile game development, which has troubled countless developers. DataEye Business VP Huang Chaobin's topic was about HTML5, which is a hot topic in the game industry recently, so his speech "2015 HTML5 Game Trend Report" sparked heated discussions among the participants.

Yang Yong hosted the entire salon. He was humorous and always able to explain professional issues in a popular and natural way, winning applause from the audience.
