On Tuesday, Apple released its new quarterly financial report. Coincidentally, on the same day the report was released, several of the company's Internet services malfunctioned, but returned to normal four hours later. According to the U.S. news website Marketwatch, at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday (Tuesday evening Beijing Time), Apple's system status page began to show that some online services were malfunctioning and inaccessible. By Tuesday morning, a large number of Apple users began to complain about outages on social networks such as Twitter. The Apple Internet services that were out of service included streaming service "Apple Music", artificial radio station Beats1, Apple Software Store, iTunes downloads and other services, and Apple set-top box content services. At 1 p.m., services gradually resumed normal. About four hours after the outage, Apple said that service had been restored and confirmed that there had been outages in various iCloud services. The specific cause of the failure is still unknown. Many users noticed that the outage occurred just before MTV was scheduled to announce the 2015 Video Music Awards (at 10 a.m.), following an announcement that it would work with Apple Music and Beats1. |
