【Huang Xiaoqing】The first Chinese business leader won the IEEE CQR Chairman Award

On the morning of May 11th, Beijing time, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) announced in Washington, USA, that the 2016 IEEE CQR Chairman's Award will be presented to Mr. Huang Xiaoqing, CEO and CTO of CloudMinds Technology. He also became the first Chinese corporate CEO to receive this honor since the IEEE CQR established the award.

Regarding this award, IEEE said, "We give this award to Mr. Bill Huang because of his outstanding leadership, which enabled the world's largest communication network to adopt the most advanced technology; because of his great influence, which integrated multiple mobile technologies into a unified set of global standards; and because of his outstanding execution, which inspired many outstanding engineers to work hard to create value for end users."

It is understood that the IEEE CQR Chairman's Award was established in 2004 and is mainly awarded to corporate technology leaders in the communications industry who have made significant achievements in the fields of security, trust, and quality and have created social value.

Mr. Huang Xiaoqing, the founder of CloudMinds Technology, once worked at Bell Labs in the United States, and then founded UTStarcom and served as the company's vice president and CTO. Since he became the president of China Mobile Research Institute in 2007, he has led China Mobile Research Institute in technological innovation and research and development, and innovatively proposed the strategic concept of building the three major infrastructures of network, application and terminal for the next generation of mobile Internet for operators, and then promoted TD-LTE to become the international mainstream standard for 4G, which has overall enhanced the voice and influence of China's communications industry in the international arena.
