Don't underestimate this black magnetic substrate of only 2.25 square decimeters. It is cut and assembled near the camera on the back of the mobile phone to ensure that the mobile phone transmits antenna signals in complex environments, which is equivalent to a sensor connected to the outside world. This high-permeability magnetic substrate, developed by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China over a period of more than 10 years, has broken the monopoly of foreign substrate manufacturers in the market. It is not only adopted by Huawei, Meizu, Xiaomi and other mobile phones, but also sold to dozens of countries and regions such as the United States and Japan. With the "Key Technology and Industrialization of High-Permeability Magnetic Substrates" project, Professor Deng Longjiang's team at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China recently won the second prize of the 2018 National Science and Technology Progress Award. "High permeability magnetic substrate is a new type of electronic substrate material with the characteristics of high permeability, thin thickness, and good impedance matching. It is used in near-field communication, wireless charging, anti-electromagnetic interference and other fields. Previously, my country still had a gap with developed countries in terms of system integration capabilities and manufacturing process levels of high permeability magnetic substrate materials." Deng Longjiang said that the main technical difficulty lies in how to solve the problem of shielding and transmission of high-frequency signals by metal emissions, and what kind of process can make the material thinner to meet the needs of thinning, miniaturization and integration of electronic equipment. Since 2008, Deng Longjiang's team has carried out a lot of research and experimental work around the key technologies and industrialization of substrate materials, and eventually invented a high magnetic permeability, low-loss magnetic substrate material formula system, and established a fully miscible water-based system casting process, achieving safe, environmentally friendly, efficient and low-cost production. "At present, we have achieved independent innovation from formula to process, formed independent intellectual property rights, and broken the foreign technology monopoly." Deng Longjiang said that the high magnetic permeability magnetic substrate developed by the project has greatly reduced the material preparation cost through the independently developed water-based cast iron process, and the material price is only one-tenth of the monopoly price of foreign products. However, low price alone is not the only guarantee for entering the market. Whether domestic magnetic substrates can be used, how good they are, and how stable they are require joint exploration by the entire electronics industry chain. The project team has joined forces with Chengdu Jiachi Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., Zhuhai Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. and other companies to jointly promote the commercial application of domestic magnetic substrates. Through industrial chain cooperation, the foreign patent monopoly on the application of magnetic substrates has been broken, and independent intellectual property rights in material preparation, device design, and equipment application have been achieved. The current daily production of materials can meet the demand for 600,000 mobile phones, and many domestic mobile phone brands are using this material. |
