Google is uploading Android 10 source code to the AOSP Android open source project

September 4 news Earlier today, Google began releasing the official version of Android 10 to devices such as Pixel phones. Before it was called "Android 10", we had been testing Android Q in developer versions for several months. This update brings some important features such as system-wide dark mode, full gesture navigation, modified permissions, etc. Google is currently uploading the Android 10 source code to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Releasing the source code for a new Android version is a big deal. This allows developers of custom ROMs to start bringing Android 10 to devices.

Another thing is Project Treble. This makes builds of Android 10 available to more devices. Android developer previews used to be reserved for Pixel/Nexus devices, but now we can see that they have been pushed to more devices. Therefore, after the source code is released, it should be easier than ever for third parties to get the stable version of Android 10.
