Tencent QQ: Please cherish your account rights. More than 13,000 QQ accounts have been blocked this year.

On October 31, Tencent QQ Security Center released the "Announcement on Cracking Down on Internet Illegal and Criminal Activities Using QQ" today, stating that while QQ protects the legitimate rights and interests of the majority of users, it firmly cracks down on "illegal use of information networks and assisting in information network criminal activities" and hopes that the majority of users can enhance their awareness of information security and cherish their account usage rights.

As an important instant messaging and social platform in China, Tencent QQ has a zero-tolerance attitude towards the use of the platform to set up illegal and irregular communication groups, publish illegal and criminal information, and provide technical support, advertising promotion, payment settlement and other assistance for cybercrime activities. Tencent QQ will continue to crack down on and clean up such activities.

From 2019 to date, based on user complaints and reports, the platform has blocked more than 6,000 QQ groups and more than 13,000 QQ personal accounts for "illegally using information networks and assisting information network criminal activities."

In order to purify the network environment within the QQ platform, maintain network order, and protect users' information security and legitimate rights and interests, in the future, Tencent QQ will continue to deal with illegal and irregular behaviors within the platform in accordance with laws and regulations, user service agreements and related rules, actively cooperate with law enforcement agencies to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of platform users, and continue to crack down on "illegal use of information networks and assisting information network criminal activities" in accordance with the law.

The Tencent QQ team reminds: Citizens who use information networks to carry out illegal and criminal activities violate the "QQ Software License and Service Agreement", "QQ Number Rules" and other relevant regulations. Serious circumstances may involve public security violations and criminal offenses and will be punished by relevant laws and regulations such as the "Criminal Law" and the "Public Security Administration Punishment Law".
