Domestic market report for January is released: OPPO wins first place, Huawei ranks third

According to the reports of major data research companies on Q4 and the whole year of 2020, both the global and domestic smartphone markets will undergo a dramatic change in 2021. The specific reason is of course the Huawei brand. Now that the first two months of 2021 are about to pass, how has the domestic market changed?

Recently, the well-known data research company Counterpoint gave a domestic market analysis report for the first month of 2021. Let’s take a look at the ranking first:

Champion: OPPO, with a market share of 21%;

Runner-up: vivo, with a market share of 18%;

Third place: Huawei, with a market share of 17%;

Fourth place: Apple, with a market share of 17%;

Xiaomi still ranks fifth, with a market share of about 16%, followed by Honor, iQOO, realme, Samsung, OnePlus, DOOV, Nokia, ZTE, Meizu, and Black Shark.

From the overall ranking, Huawei is not as weak as everyone thinks. Even after separating Honor and facing a serious chip shortage, Huawei's overall market share is still tied with Apple for third place. I believe everyone knows what kind of result this is. If it weren't for such man-made reasons, Huawei would definitely be the first. Another reason is that Xiaomi is not as strong as imagined. I thought Xiaomi would take the opportunity to attract the market vacated by Huawei, but I didn't expect that Xiaomi would only eat up part of the market vacated by Huawei and Honor online, and the offline market should be eaten up by OPPO and vivo.

It should be noted here that the living space for small and medium-sized brands is really too small. Except for Honor, which can still reach 5.8% market share, iQOO is 3.1%, and Realme is 1.8%, the share of other small brands is less than 1%. OnePlus's current market share in China is only about 0.4%, and the market share of brands such as Meizu, ZTE, and Black Shark is all 0.1%. You can calculate how much sales these small brands can have in China, especially Meizu's current market share is not as good as ZTE, Nokia, and DOO. Among the second-tier brands, iQOO is the best performing, and Realme still needs to work harder in China.
