10 apps removed from shelves by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology! They are peeking at your photo albums

Last month, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the second batch of illegal apps in 2021. 26 apps were found to have violated regulations, and the authorities also issued a notice to rectify them within a time limit. As the rectification period has expired, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has now officially dealt with the apps that have not been rectified in accordance with the law.

According to the announcement released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of now, after verification and re-inspection by a third-party testing agency, there are still 10 APPs that have not completed rectification as required. These 10 APPs are Jutu Voice, Xiaozhi, Shengba, Chunchun Voice, uni Voice, WoFit, WiiWear, Yusheng, Warm Heart Voice, and KK Keyboard.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology requires relevant app stores to immediately remove the above-mentioned apps from their shelves after the release of this notice. At the same time, if you have the above-mentioned apps installed on your device, we also recommend that you delete them as soon as possible to protect your personal privacy.

It can be seen from the official list that the apps that refuse to rectify are all applications developed by unknown manufacturers, and the majority of the software categories are voice social apps, accounting for 6 out of 10; according to the official disclosure of infringements, these apps generally have problems with illegally calling up permissions such as microphones, address books, and photo albums.

In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also emphasized that in terms of collecting and using personal information, the four words "minimum and sufficient" should become the consensus and action of the whole society. In fact, when an APP is exposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for violating regulations, the user's personal information has actually been leaked, which also requires us to have some active prevention awareness.

In addition to insisting on downloading APPs through formal channels, it is recommended that you install and use APPs, giving priority to products developed by large manufacturers among similar software. First, APPs produced by large manufacturers are relatively more restrained in requesting permissions. Second, after being confirmed to have violated the regulations in requesting permissions, large manufacturers will basically make rectifications in accordance with official requirements.

At the same time, we must also learn to use some tool apps to prevent problems before they happen. Here I would like to recommend a privacy risk self-test APP launched by Meizu. As the name suggests, this is an app that allows users to understand the problems their mobile phones have in privacy protection.

According to our actual tests, this privacy risk self-test APP currently supports seven common malicious applications that steal user information, including hidden camera, automatic clipboard reading and writing, obtaining precise positioning, reading photo privacy, etc. The operation of the application is also very simple. Users only need to follow the prompts to know which daily mobile phone behaviors have privacy and security risks.

Here we take obtaining precise location as an example. Click on this option and click Continue to obtain the location information of your location. Before that, the system does not display a pop-up window requesting the user to grant location permission. In this case, the application with location permission may have the privacy risk of obtaining your precise location. This APP supports opening to all Android phones.
