High refresh rate has become a trend: the share of 60Hz screen Android models has dropped to 40%

In the past two years, high refresh rate mobile phones have become a new arms race. Without high refresh rate, it is not worthy of being regarded as a flagship. I still remember when high refresh rate screens first appeared, some people said that they consumed too much power and were not very practical, and instead increased the power consumption of mobile phones. However, you don’t know until you use it. Once you use it, you will never go back to 60Hz. This new technology that uses refresh rate to improve smoothness is definitely worth using.

Recently, user preference statistics released by AnTuTu showed that the market share of 60Hz Android phones has dropped to 42.5%, and 120Hz models have exploded, with the potential to surpass 60Hz.

Judging from the distribution chart, the 60Hz refresh rate still accounts for the highest proportion, accounting for 42.5%. It is estimated that some users have not yet replaced their phones. However, considering that the high refresh rate is above 90Hz, more than half of the models support high refresh rates.

Among them, 120Hz refresh rate is the most common, accounting for 38.6%, most of which are equipped by mainstream flagships or some cost-effective models, followed by 90Hz and 144Hz, the latter of which is mainly composed of gaming phones.

The screen size must take into account both the look and feel of the handset. 6.6 inches accounts for the highest proportion, reaching 27.9%, followed by 6.7 inches, which accounts for 25.4%. The sum of the two accounts for half of the share, which is a common size for mainstream models today, and is also the size that most users consider to be the limit for holding in one hand.

In terms of resolution, 1080P continues to dominate, accounting for 57.9% of the total, and 1440x3200 (2K) accounts for 8.8%. Of course, we all want a clearer display, but due to technical limitations, the power consumption and cost of high-resolution screens cannot be completely overcome.
