Apple iOS 15 will be officially released next month. What should iOS 14 users do? Here are some opinions

Every year on the eve of Apple's new product launch, there are two versions of the iOS system, which are updated alternately. Many users don’t know which version to upgrade to. Today we will talk about the update of the iOS system version.

When will iOS 14 be discontinued?

iOS14 has recently been updated to iOS14.7.1 version. So is it worth upgrading or staying at this version for Apple phones?

I think it’s a bit early to say that updates will be stopped now. There should be smaller versions after iOS14, such as iOS14.7.2 or 14.8. Of course, if not, we can indeed stop updates. Generally speaking, the last version of each system is the most stable.

Another point is that when you upgrade or downgrade, you must back up your phone data. Usually, it is very simple to use iCloud. Turn on the iCloud synchronization function and sync your memos, contacts, messages, photos, etc. to iCloud in a timely manner. After re-login and activation, these data will automatically return.

If you need to back up separately, you can use a computer to back it up and then transfer it to your mobile phone.

Can iOS 14 continue to be upgraded?

Can I upgrade to the latest system version? If you are already using iOS14.7.1, you can upgrade it with confidence. If there is iOS14.7.2 or iOS14.8 later, it is also recommended to upgrade and finally stay at the last version.

After the official version of iOS15 is pushed next month, the latest official version of iOS14 at that time will actually be the final version. Unless there are serious problems with this version later, Apple generally will not provide updates for this generation of system.

If you are still using stable old versions such as iOS12 and iOS13, I suggest you not to upgrade and just use it until the next time you buy a new iPhone.

I have personally used the iPhone for such a long time, and I have indeed come to a conclusion. Regarding system upgrades, I only recommend upgrading to one major version at most. For example, the version that iPhone12 came out with is iOS14, and I only recommend upgrading to iOS15. As for the future iOS16, upgrading is not recommended.

If you don't use the new features of the new system frequently, I suggest you stay with the final version of the factory version.

I started using Apple phones from iPhone 4 and have been using them until now. I have not used iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 6S, and iPhone X, but I have used other models.

I have a deep feeling about system upgrades. Even Apple, which has a good reputation, cannot optimize every adapted iPhone in the same way as the new iPhone of the year. This is impossible, so basically they only adapt to old models. For example, iOS14 still supports iPhone5S, but the experience after the upgrade is very poor. This is due to problems with the hardware of the phone itself.

Finally, in conclusion, if you are already an iOS 14 user, you should upgrade to iOS 14.7.1 or subsequent minor versions.

If you are still using old versions before iOS 14, then you should continue to use them until you buy a new phone next time. This is just my personal suggestion and is intended to provide a reference for everyone. Whether to upgrade in the end depends on everyone's opinions.
